Can anybody come up with some fluff to support a "fallen" sisters army?? The problem I see with it is that "Acts of Faith are a direct manifestation of the Emporer's divine purpose." Any ideas??
They could view themselves as the only *true* followers of the emperor, and everyone else is fallen.
Or maybe one of the dark powers granted them similar abilities, if they are ovetly worshiping chaos.
In that case, just try coming up with new names for the AoFs.
Maybe you could have the fluff based on an old demon (or chaos god) who grants them their faith in the same way the Emperor does.
Think Soul Drinkers, if you've read the first of the Soul Drinkers books.
Maybe they might not know they are fallen, and the old demon takes the place of the Emperor in this case?

Perhaps the Order was Excommunicated by the Ecclesiarchy, and now, they're trying to repent.
Depends on your interpretation of "fallen". What'd you have in mind?
I'm looking for something unique for my sisters. I'm using a black color scheme. I thought that might tie in nicely with some fluff about the order either being tied in with Chaos or falling from the Emporer's favour. Something radical. Maybe something like the cult leaders we have in the world who think their religion is the only religion and make their followers drink cyanide coolaid. Ya know?
I like the concept of fallen sisters, it make for great fluff. One note though, one of the main color schemes of the larger sister orders shown in the codex have black as the main color. That could make for a good fluff in your orders background as they a splinter branch of that group.
40k: Witch Hunters, starting Dark Eldar
Warmahordes: Cryx; Circle
As what has been mentioned 'fallen' means they do not follow the current Imperial doctrine. Maybe it is to weak for them? As deadpool (p.s. awesome super hero) has mentioned a possible radical group that broke off one of the tradtional groups. There black armor could mean that they believe that they have sinned or humanity has sinned and they repay din with bolter and flamer.

I always thought it was interesting that the human females have a collective based psychic power in 40k, as opposed to an individual male psyker. (Yes, there are female psykers, but bear with me.) In the fluff is talks about powerful psykers only emerged onto the scene around the 25th mellenium or so, which indicates humanity is evolving. Perhaps woman tend to evolve their powers differently from men, as a collective rather than an individual. On that note, your fluff for a fallen sisters army could be that a group of battle sisters manifested a psychic collective that was possesed by a powerful demon. It's a little far out, but just thought I'd add my two cents.
All great ideas! Thanks for the posts. I'm leaning toward either they have fallen out of favour with the emporer and so they have turned their faith to the "dark side" of chaos. This would be cool b/c I would be able to come up with some new names for the acts of faith and such. The other idea is to make them very zealous. Like the people who go killing sinners in the name of God. They believe that their way is the only way and those who don't beleive should die. Something along those lines.
Heresy! Start a Chaos army based on Sisters models maybe?
