I have an assualt based command squad in my army based around one of the new command HQ box sets. I like the standard bearer model and made up a standard, but am not having any actual standard bearer upgrade. I just think it is cool and fluffy for the squad to have a nice looking standard - I dont want the abilities of the standard at all - just how it looks.
My question is to whether this is against WYSIWYG (im going into a tourney) - can I have the model with a standard just for looks?
yes, you can have a squad with a standard, just cause it looks cool, like don't they have special character models that come with standards, but don't use them at all?
and a command squad without a standard (even one, just for looks) doesn't look like a command squad.
oh, but you might want to check with the tourney organizers though, cause different tourneys have different thoughts!
