Ok, so the Chaos codex is out
In the previous edition. I faced alpha legion, iron, warriors, all four colors of chaos, and plenty of undivided armies. I knew what I was up against and could prepare properly (army tailoring aside).
With all those "gone" in way how will this effect how IG players will do against this new chaos....
I hear the Demon princes are still a nasty as ever, but now a demolisher round will only wound it, no more insta kills.
Please post on how you think this will effect IG and our tactics against them.
Most of the stuff has become more anti-MEQ, for example the IG really don't care about Inferno Rounds, AP5 did the same trick.
One thing that's set to steal the show is the Lash of Submission. I haven't really found time to commit myself to this problem, but something that's becoming apparent is that high density firepower units like Hardened Veterans and Support teams are going to become next to useless against a Chaos army that wields the Lash of Submission. At the moment I'm turning to sentinels to try and spread some of my heavy firepower around, I'll also most likely be deepstriking my Hardened Veterans as well against Chaos.
I think ultimately the key to neutering Slannesh's new toy will be identifying the unit(s) your opponent wants to combo it with, and then letting them feel your shooty wrath.
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
When I see the chaos changes I feel glad that I managed to sell my World Eaters. Berzerkers are just WS5 CSM with melee weapons now, no blood frenzy means that they're slow footsloggers, doomed to be trapped inside a rhino or atleast another round of footslogging before they get dangerous... :/
From what I understand you only need to fear the lash of submission if one does not have the leadership to enforce discipline over those units, for in order for it to work you need to fail a leadership test. I could be mistaken, however.
The rest ofthe codex does look difficults, as I think we are going to see the abolishment of any "pure" chaos armies, being a mish mash of everything. 1000 Sons on fire support, mowing down everything with their ap3 bolters, plauge bikers manuvering with their teleport homers to deepstrike khorne terminiators... to me it is disapointing, and only the real fluff fanatics will take a pure army, as I have heard no benefits of doing so.

The same tactics that you use against the Space Marines would be the same tactic to use against the Chaos....the new codex makes just as generic as the space marines and not that much different stat wise. Some things you can not worry about such as the possessed...they are too unpredictable now to be worth using.
Any way, the new chaos codex is nothing more than the space marines gone bad.
Where the heck did all them guardsmen come from?
Great Wolf! Is that the howl of the 13th?
