I was wondering which of the 2 types would be the best to use in an army. which one would be the the most of value.
I have no experience with flyers, but i have read and seen the rules in action.
so i have no experience in evaluating their stats.
Well I've never used them regularly as I can't afford to buy the actual models, but I would say that it depends what you're planning to do with them. If you're looking for a mean flyer to rain sweet death on the enemies of mankind, then the vulture is probably your best bet. If you want a fast flyer to transport your stormtroopers in style, then the valkyrie is the one you want. Either way, it is going to be a kind of luxury unit, probably not the most efficient use of points or money but a damn cool model that's going to be a lot of fun to build, paint, play with, show off, etc.
Tyranids: 2500 pts
Imperial Guard: 1000 pts
Witch Hunters: 1000 pts
if you ever want use a flyer for anti tank go for the vulture.....................................2 twin linked autocannon shots, 6 hunter killers, 3 heavy bolter shots.............all land on your vehicles Rear armor!!!!!
the valkyrie with added rocket pods is the best anti horde weapon avalable to guard...........................................1 turn of shooting 3 multilaser shots, 6 heavybolter shots, 4 small blast templates.........................for 190 pts that is nasty
by the way it is not valkery it is actually Valkyrie, it is kinda discouraging to click on a link with the wrong spelling.
personally the valkyrie is a better buy for me(i have plenty of lascannons and missile launchers and deepstriking melta teams!)
also if you ever play mega battles where u play you will enjoy flyers(my friend is on the end table on the opposite side of the room and is being destroyed by the enimies avatar getting very close to their lines with full wounds so my vulture flies in and knockes him out in 1 turn of shooting..................and also in the same game my vulture attacked a bunch of gargantuan squiggoths.............................)

as per others, I went with the vulture, and dont regret it, as a gunship it has twice the hardpoints, better choice hands down
Everything you have been told is a lie!
the vulture is good imo but the valkyire does batter anti horde(kinda/maybe) with the extra heavy bolter and multilaser to start with
also while deciding which to take a valkyrie is cheaper valkyrie dont need the pod upgrades to be effective and considering it is cheaper than the cost of 2 chimera's without hull upgrades and has more

now that the book is available, i'm restating my question.
what craft is best suited in the game???
Not sure about Apocalypse rules, but under the current rules the Valkyrie didn't count as a scoring unit for table quarters etc as it's a transport, but the Vulture does.
I also found that while landing troops the Valkyrie is too vulnerable : the 6's to hit are your best friend.
The Valkyrie lacks punch at range. Hypothetically it should be great against hordes, but for the Rocket pods to work you have to be much closer to your enemies. Most hordes have soo many troops they can take the gamble and shoot back at your flier, numerically fewer armies are less likely to. Against hordes it's much harder to position yourself against the enemy you want to take the shot at without exposing your vulnerable flier to counter fire.
I prefer the Vulture for very mobile Anti Tank, but I run into a fair number of Monoliths and Land Raiders. Firing at range with LC's or AC's plus Hunter killer missiles makes it very effective, and likely to survive to the end, when it can run in and contest a quarter etc.
