well as the Title says, what are your Tactics that you use for your guard army. Mainly I Just want to see what people us and try devise my own tactics by Bit from here bit from there.
Dont use against:
Tau 12/1/3 (3000 pts)
IG 4/1/0 (2500 pts)
SM 3/1/0 (1500 pts)
CSM 1/0/1 (1500 pts)(W/D/L )
Infiltrate my troops and use the Leman Russ as backup
then anything that gets close to combat I move 1 squad in as a lure then shoot everything else and assualt everything thats left holding them up so everything else can fallback into a better position
the doctrines were Cameoline Close order Light infantry and Diehards
I can be 2 things at once.
Gods gift to the world, and his biggest mistake
This sounds fun! I'd like to see some of the responses to give me an idea too ^_^
As for myself-
NAME: "The Sticky Guard"
Infantry Platoons. Many platoon men! Die Hards, Close Order Drill, and Veteran Sargeants.
Many Grenade Launchers scattered throughout the army, for lots of small arms death (fear thy small arms fire, MEQ!)
Command HQ with some Anti-tank squads- as the other footmen aren't relying on a Ld Bubble, and just cruise forward like an angry swarm, laying out the small arms fire.
Ordnance- Ordnance tickles everyone
Use against: Everything.
Dont use against: Everything.

NAME: The HAHAHAHAHA game plan
units required: 2 special weapon squads with demolition charges (and only demo charges), and 5 minimum size last chancer units, all with demolition charges!
Then deepstrike the lot!
You may also take 2 or 3 basilisks, and a whole bunch of mortars, for the sake of completeness.
use against: Someone who is annoying you, but also it has to be someone you don't care if you win or lose against. There is a strong chance the plan won't work! But if it does, you may have just acquired your newest enemy! [Correction: Nemesis may be a more true word to use here]
Dont use against: Tournament armies, at a tournament.
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
NAME: Mechanised Grenadiers
units required: Grenadiers in Chimerae, Hellhounds, Leman Russes, some form of Long range anti-tank.
upgrades recommended: Smoke launchers, extra armour, rough terrain modifications
use against: Enemies of the Imperium.
Dont use against: Allies of the Imperium(Gee, ain't I clever? :p)
Oh, I could write an entire essay about playing Mechanised Grenadiers, but in short, you use the tanks for pounding away at infantry while the grenadiers claim objectives and support the tanks with melta/plasma since those weapons are better suited for dealing with units that your tanks have trouble with, such as other tanks and high toughness or 2+ armour saves.
Your long rage support stays in the rear firing away at the juciest target. Use your tanks to manuever around(or through!) terrain, remember that the greatest strenght of a mechanised list is your ability to move and fire so you should be able to avoid atleast some of your opponent's anti tank by hiding around or in terrain. Rough Terrain Modifications makes this so much easier aswell. The goal is to move your tanks into positions where all of your units can fire but not all of your opponents, so if you have 1750 points that all have something to shoot at, but your opponent has two units with none of yours within line of sight, you might be fighting a 1750p against 1300p untill your opponent has time to adapt to your moves.
