Why is it that i feel so much contempt for eldar? does anybody else hate them or is it just me?
the thing i hate most is there incessant witchcraft use to protect there tanks and special characters

That is a fairly normal view from a person playing Ultramarines/Witch Hunters...
I don't hate them, but I have always been on the heretic side of the road.

There is only one gripe i have with the Eldar. Unkillable Falcons... Everytihng else is fodder to a us Witch Hunters (Hammer of the Witches and a Culexus anyone?) but Falcons with holo-fields, Makes my blood boil...
Yes, those skimmers are just insane. I think that I should just stop shooting at them from now on, and concentrate on the rest of those armies. Bummer is, there is usually not a lot of things outside of them ;o
a whole army of skimmers and jetbikes makes me cry.
between twin Fire Prisms and Falcons that I can't touch, Vypers that are disgustingly cheap, and only slightly easier to touch, and jetbikes, I can't do much.
neither can hardly anyone else though. I suppose gun line infantry guard could take the mech eldar lists, but seriously....
Mech Eldar is pretty unfair vs. many armies. At least until a trump finally comes out against them. I've actually had my opponent go ahead and set up, just to concede on him. I like an uphill battle, but up a sheer cliff battle, I'll pass.
I'm not sure Mech Eldar all comers lists really have a weakness. That's what I think is wrong with them.

Guard gunline + escalation = eldar trainwreck.
I think the frustration comes from the fact that it's a game involving more luck than most. Either you get lucky and take out a Falcon/Prism early on and get ahead, or you don't. If one of the big $$$ tanks dies on turn 1 or 2 the Eldar player really feels it (especially if it was full of now-entangled harlies.)
What really drives me batty about Mech Eldar is full size armored hard to kill tanks being 'fast.' You can never count on getting a single blessed objective point against this army as they can claim anything they please with 24" last turn moves. It would be much better if they just had a move12 and shoot rule. Correspondingly tourney scenarios that don't involve objective grabbing hurt them quite a bit.
My brother is building his first army and he is doing all skimmers and jetbikes...makes me wanna cry...he has 2 unites of reg. jetbike guys as troops, 3 fire prisms, he is ordering some vypers and 2 units of shining spears...one of which has his HQ in it. Thats very few models for an eldar army but it scares the hell out of me on paper. shooting his 4 units of jetbikes is like shooting space marines except that they can move sooo fast, but holofields on skimmers every where is just unfair...how am i supposed to destroy anything...
Would it be too far to cry cheese to him?
And yes, I do hate eldar
I'm with you guys, every last one of you. I feel your pain. Stupid... FALCONS!
Yes - it seems that the newer Codices (Tau, Eldar, Chaos with Lash) do not have good counters availiable to the other armies... Adepticon this year was full of Eldar skimmers and SM Drops. Come to think of it, I do not remember when was the last time I downed an Eldar skimmer Nowadays, mech Tau is something that I would gladly play against
Sisters have it harder than most due to their lack of many long ranged AT weapons. More generally, if you can control the table, you can control the Eldar.
I've been beaten by players because they've given me nowhere to run (or knocked out two fire prisms in a turn...) from their guns. There is a way, because there is always a way.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
