Oh man! Wall of rhino's!
I borrowed the store's ultramarine army yesterday for a 1200 point bash vs my mates space wolves. I decided to go mechanised, so every unit had to have a rhino/razorback.
The army list was something like this:
Command squad/captain, apothercary, standard bearer, champion
Tactical Squad, 10 marines, powersword, plasmagun, plasmacannon
Tactical Squad, 10 marines, powerfist, plasmagun, missile launcher
Devastator Squad, 10 marines, 2 heavy bolters, 2 plasma cannons
Predator Annhilator, (twin las, 2 heavy bolters).
Man, it rocked! I used all the rhino's to block his long fangs and other long ranged fire, 'cos even when dead they are still area 3, and was able to drive by rapid fire with massed boltguns at individual targets of my choosing. Even though we rolled escalation (I started with nothing on the board), it was still an awesome list.
I'm sure this topic has been covered many times before on this forum, but I just thought I'd share my thoughts on the subject.
And I'm curious - how have other people fared with such a list?
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
Well, it works with just about any army that can get rhinos due to the fact that they cost so few points. Adding a rhino to a full tooled up marine squad adds only about 25% of the cost.
That said it probably works best with SoB as they have the most close range weapons, and so need the transports anyways. And drive by flaming sounds so much cooler then drive by shooting.
Rhino's are one of those vehicles that I think is overlooked personally. I mean they offer a faster way to get marines into cc, if they get blown up they offer more terrain to hide behind, in some cases they can even cause some perliminary dmg to a unit, and the best part they are cheap. I am planning on runnin a DA list with lots of rhinos here soon.

When that Apocalypse Battle Company set comes out next month with 9 Rhinos or some such in it, there will be lots of vroom going on around here.
Tekore (All he wants to do is go vroom vroom vroom and then boom boom, just make some noise)
I play BA and love the new rules we get for rhinos! They are cheap (as long as you do not take EA) and can go up to 18" each turn with a little luck!
They also work verry nice when trying to block the oponents LOF
Ahh the rhino.
I run a mechanized Black Templar list, featuring rhinos and razorbacks... bot a best general, and a best overall at tourneys!
I love my rhinos. Have been faithfull to them always. The trick is to use them correctly. I envy other SM armies that get them for so darn cheap now tho. (and chaos) grrr.
I think you need to be carefull in how many you take, as the points add up, and I don't generally like to have a bunch of points that are non-scoring.
But that said, I always try to have at least 2 in lists with lots of troops, as they are awsome as mobile terrain.
In my BA list, I take 2 tac squads JUST so I can have 2 rhinos to advance my jump troops behind.
