Under the HQ section of the Space Wolves codex it states: "The number of HQ units a Space Wolves army must have is not determined by the force organisation chart being used for the senario. Instead a Space Wolves army must have exactly one HQ for every 750 points in the army, round fractions up. For example, a 1,500 point space wolves army would have to have two HQ units- no more and no less!"
So my question is,
If you have a army of 2,250 or more, would/could you have 3 HQs?
If you have a 751 point army, do you have to have 2 hqs since it says rounding up? i would assume not.
Thanks for any responses, and sorry if this was already posted, didnt see it anywhere

Yes and no, respectively. It's one of the best and worst attributes about the Space Wolves; We have some kick ass HQ choices, like the Venerable Dreadnought. But can also be a major points sink, having to invest so many points in such a small number of models.
Edit: The answer to the second question is technically a yes but i sure your buddies would let you off being only one points over.

If you're playing a friendly game that allows you to go over by a few points, then I'd say no. Just use one HQ.
What's I don't like going over the point values, it kinda keeps these issues away. You could go back over you list and see where you could pull one point off and then you'd have no problem.

Thanks for the help! the second question was a hypothetical question. I really didnt think it would be true. But where do you think the second HQ would become mandatory? closer to 1,000?

Technically, the minute you cross the 750 point limit (whether that's 751 points or 1000 points, etc.) then you're supposed to buy a second HQ. Also technically, if you are playing a 750 point game, you aren't allowed to go over even a single point. In friendly games amongst friends, I'm sure nobody will get on you about it, but be aware that more non-friendly games, you could get called out on each of those points.
Lost nemesis is corrent, the second your army goes over 750 points you HAVE to take a second HQ. Now if it's a friendly 750 game and you go over a point, no big deal. If the game is an "official" 800 point game then you need two HQs.
