    i'm gonna b playing my friend who has ultramarines this saturday. he will have a grey knight hero and termie bodyguard squad too.

    my doctrines are: drop troops, close order drill, chem-inhalers, conscripts, rough riders

    army list:

    HQ:
    JO w/ bolt pistol, power weapon, carapace armor
    3 Flamers, 1 Standard Bearer
    Commissar w/ Bolt Pistol, refractor field, carapace armor, power weapon, cross of macharia
    Chimera w/ Heavy Flamer & Heavy Bolter & Smoke Launchers

    Inquisitor Lord w/ Bolt Pistol, Thunder Hammer, Artificer Armor, Icon of the Just, Holy Relic, Holocaust

    Elites:
    2 Daemonhosts

    Troops:
    1 Platoon

    JO w/ Storm Bolter & Honorifica Imperialis
    3 Plasma Guns, 1 Medic

    Alpha Squad

    you majorly need some heavy weapon squads to hone the potency of your guardsmen and make them competetive.

    that's the only thing i really see

    Flamers arent all that good against any kind of marine, I would swap them out for PLASMA GUNS, and add as many Missle Luncher/Lascannons as you can fit...it helps a LOT

    flamers seem to work for my sisters of battle against space marines. Infact flamers are a great way to defeat power gamers too, because it requires skill to use them, instead of a calculator.

    You have to remember they still get there armor save so you won't be killing alot of guys at once. Now a plasma gun thats a marine dead for sure. The thing about the flamer is , do you really want to get that close to a marine?

    exactly my point, do the count..a plasma gun, 24"..will get..say for good measure, 3 shots..thats 3 dead marines....a flamer will only get one, will hit from 3-5 marines depending on how well he is spaced, 2-3 of which will make a save...so in the end, plasma has the potential to kill an extra marine each....this is assuming every shot hits and wounds, if you look at this realistically....Plasma is the way to go...

    GO FLAMERS&#33; Way to go, trust me flamers work. I use as many as possible in my guard army, that plus a hellhound. Just don&#39;t use them as an excuse to get closer to marines, just use them when he gets close to you and you lead a massed counter assault. (conscripts anyone?)

    well it could be worse, at least he&#39;s not playing a monster CC chapter

    i actually won. he deepstriked his army at me but spread them out way too thin. i slaughtered him
