    Heavy Stubbers

Just wondering, why are stubbers only available as pintle mounts? I'd use them a lot more if they were available on normal squads, maybe as a special weapon. (as in a normal squad with a stubber and hvy bolter)

This is about codex guard, not Krieg

They're only available as pintle mounted weaponary.

Or well, Lost and the Damned armies can give their Traitor Guardsmen Heavy Stubbers as special weapons and the Death Korps of Krieg seem to have stubbers sprinkled out all over their modelline.

Anyways I forgot to mention that this is about armies from the IG codex, not Krieg, traitors, etc

I believe the reason they have it set up as stubbers being only vehicle choices is because they're worried Guard my go back to it's original form of fighting. Just sit back, obliterate the enemy, then after the entire enemy army is dead. March in and take the objective with mininmal to null casualties.

When guardsmen are supose to take the objective in blood, loosing men for the overall battle. As to inspire that soldier who is standing next to a pile of goo which was a few moments ago his best friend. That's what the guard is supose to be!

Sitting back, obliverating, and moving in on the objectivew is the most common and risk free way to play guard, and still is;Y.

Stubbers are vechicle only, because, they are essentially a weaker, les ap heavy bolter, they are heavy weapons, so they don't make sense as a special weapon.

traiters use them to be different, and DKOK use them for two reasons

    1. they are the standard trench guard weapon in novels, fluff, etc.
    2. GW was able to model them, as there are no "set in stone" model of what a stubber should look like, so they were able to make them look like British WWI vicker machine guns (even though the DKOK models are based on the germans, don;t ask)

hope this helps. i donlt see many people taking stubbers, when heavy bolters are a cheap, and more effective choice.

The reason I suggested special weapon is because they would be kind of weak for heavy weapons and also because I noticed that traitors could take them as special weapons, that's all.
Couldn't traitors just have access to demonic gifts or something to make them different? (sorry if they can already, this is based off the adversaries in the WH codex which could be different from the other things)

Than you will love DKOK, for them all their heavy bolters are replaced with heavy stubbers. That new macharius super heavy has about 6 twin stubbers in its hull if I am not mistaken. And they have the option of putting them in standard squads.

Not quite, but I would love to see a twin linked Heavy Stubber for the same price as a Heavy Bolter!

1)Can they take a hvy stubber and hvy bolter at the same time?
2)Actually this isn't really about DKOK, I'm asking why guard from the codex only get stubbers on tanks.
