Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was just wondering if I was the only one who viewed a heavy deamon army as a difficult army to win against? I have faced a world eaters army which consisted of two full CSM troops a lord ment only to survive with no offense but pure deffense a blood thister and 3-6 full squades of deamons! every time i sent one unit back they would return it was never ending! basically I lost but my GM force weaponed the blood thirster and used a deamon hammered combined with destroy deamon to kill the lord. that made it a personal win for me.
back to my point as a DH hate to play against Daemons, does that make me wrong?
"Advance, or it will not be daemonic blood that stains my hammer this day."
Inquisitor Lord Hephaestos Grudd, addressing Colonel Molain of the 223rd Gudrunite Rifles.
One thing I will say though, is if you are playing with victory points, it makes it tough at times for chaos to win... remember every time you kill that daemon (2nd and third time... due to them coming back on the table) you get their victory points.. meaning you can drill them and get stupid victory points.
Don't pass a full judgement on Daemons until the new Daemon codex is realeased in early 2008. After that full Daemon armies will likely be possible and should contain much more rules for daemons than what the CSM codex includes.
For now they are no big deal since they lost the ones that had good rules and got stuck with just crapy CC marines ( daemonettes / bloodletters before though would just destory me if they had more then 1 unit ) but be prepared for when the daemon codex comes out as I have a feeling they will become one of the worst armies for grey knights to fight against.
- You must set fire to water or you will be extinguished.
It is apparent that with the new Chaos Dex we need some updates to the Inquisitorial side as well. Simple fact – Daemons losing the “Instability” rule negate at least two or three options from the GW codex… It would be great if after the Deamons Dex, Inquisition would get a major update, so that Daemonhunters would not be afraid of facing… Daemons!
THat was certainly what I was hoping for. An all Daemon 'dex could be the best thing that ever happened for DH players if it is handled right!
Most likely, but to be honest it's not like DH are unique in this regard. Most 'dexes are out of date once they've been out for 6 months at the most. All we can really do is cross our fingers.
Rumors I've heard from GW have DE, Orks, Necrons and SW all ahead of us codex wise . So we still may have a decent wait.
