    a tenth space marine chapter.

hey all im attempting to make an apocalypse SM army. but im doing it with a twist.
i hope to have all 9 of the first founding chapters, but i want a tenth to make it even for the purposes of squads. i hope to have a special character from each army to lead the army. eg marneus calgar, azrael, lysander, shrike etc. which major SM chapter would be the best. im torn between using Black Templars or maybe Crimson fists.. what would be the most expected chapter you would see in this army? thans for your time

Why not do Grey knights instead.

i thought BT seeing as i already have an army of them but thought id like to do something new. thats the only concern from them, and grey knights dont exactly fit the theme. and it would end up costing more.
i plan to buy a TS and just get DA and SW bits to add character to one model in the squad. so for example have a TS with
    1 DA
    1 UM
    1 IF
    1 SW
    1 WS
    1 BA
    1 IH
    1 RG
    1 salamander
    1 unknown chapter...maybe i should do a poll

also does anyone know anything about white scars or Iron hands leaders.. i cant find anything and would like to have a leader running around from each.

lastly which chapter would be most likely to field what? EG. which army would field the seargent and which would field the heavy weapon and who would supply the special weapon etc.

    thanks for the help

I would say Blood Ravens. GW seems to love lumping them in with the first foundings.

Like someone said earlier, convert some Custodes, then count them as Grey Knights. Now you all your units fit together. It would just be a little strange to include all first founding, and then a succesor chapter. Thats why I say stick with custodes.

IMO the marines from a chapter should stay in the same squad. It makes more sense, and looks more organized than a squad full of different colors

    DA - tactical, bikers, termies
    UM - tactical
    IF - tactical, termies
    SW - tactical, scouts, assault
    WS - bikers
    BA - assault
IH - tactical, hvy weapons, special weapons
    RG - scouts, assault
    salamander - special weapons, tactical
Custodes (if still you decide to include 1 marine from each chapter in a squad) - sergeant
The tenth special character could just be an existing special character you haven't used yet/Grey Knight grand master dressed up like a custode.

Rainbow Warriors! They were in Rogue Trader before some of the current First Founders and you don't see them much. Other wise I'd say go with the BT's for uniquness and easy character choice or Grey Knights as they are a First Founding Chapter with a new name!

I agree that this would work better, as you don't have Imperial Fist successors in there otherwise.

On the Iron Hands, their commanders were the Iron Fathers (throwback to old rules) but now they take Techmarines with the Scion of Mars upgrade. White Scars, cant think of one off the top of my head.
