Having read the new codex for Blood Angels published in White Dwarf, there was just one thing i was unsure about. with squads such as tactical and assault amongst others, you pay the standard cost for 5 models then get an option to upgrade with another 5. However, i like to take 7 in a squad. Is this still possible? I have seen army lists with 8 in a squad, but would like to know for sure.

every squad must be either 5 or ten models, the only exception is death company and vet assault squads.
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
As stated above. Most units with the combat squad special rule will not be able to be anything but 5 or 10 models.
The rule was designed this way, and is not a mistake or oversight. 10 man squads is how GW wants marines to be played from now on.
You take a 5 man squad, and can "buy" the other five for a set price. One you have ten men, you can purchase a heavy weapon for the squad. You can't get heavy weapons in 5-man squads any more.

It says 5. 5 is what you get.
rtfm is in effect.
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
In Codex: Space Marines you can put anywhere from 4 to 9 marines in a squad with a Sgt, that is how you got 5,6,7,8,9 man squads. In the two latest Space Marine codices, Dark Angels and Blood Angels, they went away from the first concept and created the concept of "combat squads" which has been ably described above, (must be either 5 or 10). Most space marine chapters will use Codex: Space Marines, but the following have their own codex: Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Black Templars and Space Wolves. Of those four, only DA and BA have the combat squads rule. Eventually all space marines will be required to partake in the combat squads, but until they re-write Codex: Space Marines that will not come to pass UNLESS they release an errata or something...
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
Ok thanks for that. Just wanted to be sure.
