Hey guys, I'm having a bit o' trouble picking the traits for my chapter.
I already have picked out " See, but don't be seen", but I'm having trouble picking between, "trust you battle brothers" & "cleanse & purify".
I like tybb, because it allows you those extra attacks when getting charged, which will happen more often because of infiltrate, although it does make each marine upgraded 21 pnts ;?
I like cleanse and purify, because nothing says have a nice day more than an entire infiltrating marine army with plasma and melta up the wazoo! 8X
If you could respond with reasoning also, not just "trust your battle brothers cuz its teh bettar!!!!11!1one!!!1"
personally, i always prefer fluff over matter, so i would go with the one that fits my prospective chapter.
in your case however i would go for "cleanse", keeping your marines cheaper will mean more infiltrating bodies.
I would tend to agree with Hezu. See, but Don't Be Seen tends to already add up, and if you add Trust your Battle Brothers in, it can really add up. If you used both upgrades in a squad, you're spending sixty extra points in that squad. Yikes! Having an extra flamer or melta is never a bad bet, you'll most likely enjoy that trait. Hope this helps!
As an Alpha Legion player who used infiltrate a lot..
In the old chaos codex, CSM basically all had the cleanse and purify trait.
It worked very very well with infilrate. You had forward squads poking the enemy with plasma. Plasma is great because it can hurt anything on the battlefield - including yourself. Total non discriminatory pain!
I loved infiltrating plague marines however.. seeing as they had true grit. And sure enough, they were a bulwarck against enemy advances.
It's done in a round about way.. but what I'm basically saying is that, they're both great options and both have merit.
I think you should try both out and see which one fits your play style and also the feel of the chapter.

I play Blood Ravens, so I have See But Don't Be Seen and Trust Your Battle Brothers as my traits. I always (always) use SBDBS and have never once used TYBB. As you've said, using both means each marine costs 21 points, which is way too much. I have scouts to infiltrate close and assault, and I use my marines for close range fire support. Obviously, close range fire support would be augmented with Cleanse and Purify.
My suggestion: use SBDBS and CAP. It doesn't make sense to take TYBB. If you use both traits your marines are too expensive. If you just use TYBB, your marines start out far away from the enemy and this trait might not get used. Either way, TYBB doesn't work terribly well.
Thanks guys, after hearing your responses, and talking with some good friends up at the local GW and some other forums. I have decided on Cleanse & Purify. Mainly because nothing says have a nice day than an entire infiltrating marine force with plasma and meltas ( I play purely infantry).
