Just a new guy on the block.
I've been playing with SOB for a couple years now and am just wondering about how you guys out there are gonna adapt your sisters to the new Witch Hunters army list.
I appreciate any ideas....
See you around.
well, im going to re-organize my army. I will have half of my troop squads in Rhinos, and the other half will fill out to 20 battle sisters. I will take a squad of Repentia, but I think I will scale back on the celestians if they don't get anything making them better than regular battle sisters (they were really awsome since they were the only ones in the army, hq aside, with bs4). I think I will finnally get an excrosist or 2, and I will form a second heavy weapon team, but only if the penitent engines don't fit into my army. Fast attack will be as many saraphim as I can fit in, as normal.
Well, I enjoy buying for some reason, so I'm sure I'll somehow find myself with an army consisting of a little of everything. it's what I'm best at.
Well, if one taken in account the different cost increase between Sisters of Battle and Seraphims we'll see that the sisters are now much better for just 1 more point and the seraphims increase of 6 points makes them a very nice but expensive choice which in my opinion only contribute in one aspect:
In an "assault" (not hth) army the seraphims alongside a vehicle with the upgrade that increases close unit's Ld may be combined to maintain the normal sisters in close combat when assaulted for a lot longer... +1 Ld from the vehicle and +1 Ld from the Seraphims which bring to effect the only troops choice (without a special character) with a possible Ld of 10.
Any other ideas?
With all the new Faith acts and extra units and being able to ally they are alot stronger in my opinion than they were. New peeps, new toy options.
I'm not saying that as a whole the army is not better (still to test) but that if you wan to mke a pure sisters army then it can be more reliable to use the battle sisters, the seraphims are now much more expensive (cost Vs effectivness) and yes, the new units are great.
Mys Sisters of Battle relied mostly on faith points and seraphims: in relation to Faith Points i much more prefered the old ones and seraphims are now in my opinion just a little too expensive (even if i will still use them).
Just something else i realised when reading though the codex... most of the most useful/better looking units (penitent engine, sisters repentia, arco-flagellants, assassins, DC assassins, orbital strike) and the ones that will eventually make your army different from the mainstream have a special rule...
Something that even the Daemonhunters did not have to worry about... from the list above with the exception of the Sisters Repentia you may only field those options if you have also a priest in the army (arco-flagellants, penitent engines) or an Inquisitor or Inquisitor Lord (all other choices).
It's just not fare.
we have lamented this before, maybe you should read the entire sob forum before you spam up your own threads. It is one of the shorter forums.
