it states in the codex that if the the sergant in the command squad is given terminator honours the all other members in the squad that aint specalists may aslo be given them. My querie was, does it have to be all the remaining members all could u just give it to say 4 out of 8?
you can give it to as little or as many of the marines as you like.
your personal preference.
My homage to my time spent at Libararium Online:
guess everyony agrees with this then?
Sorry, I don't. The exact wording is:
In addition if the Sergeant has Terminator Honour, then all other Space Marines in the squad may be given Terminator Honours at +xx points per model.
Notice the all. It means all or none, so you can't pick and choose.
No, it doesn't.
It means that every single one has the option of taking termie honors.
Turtles For the Turtle God!
Shells For the Shell Throne!
So why then wasn't it worded to describe that like each or any?
All means all - a collective sum of parts as it were. What justification is there for breaking that down to individual marines? Is there a precedent for this? Show me some justification and I may agree with you, but to me it seems clear cut - all or none. If they wanted different they would have written it different.
it doesn't mean all. It says In addition if the Sergeant has Terminator Honour, then all other Space Marines in the squad may be given Terminator Honours at +xx points per model. Notice the may, it doesnt mean you have to.You can put termi hons on however many squad members as you wish as long as the sergeant has some.
I was going to post about the word may aswell - thats the key.
In terms of justifying it, I don't see any reason why one or two members of a command squad wouldn't have more honours than other members, showing their progress through the ranks of the chapter.
The RAW is unclear, although in legal speak, I believe I'd have to side with those that say you may upgrade any number of models with terminator honours. However, its best to stick with conventional wisdom on topics like this - almost everything else, such as tank hunters squad skills, and grenades must be purchased as all or nothing. Especially if your considering going to a tourney or something like that.
Better yet - don't bother upgrading to terminator honors on other models as its not worth the points, making this argument fruitless. It is simply not worth X points to upgrade a model holding anything less then a powerfist with +1 attack.
