I wanted to collect the similarities between Black Templar and Witch Hunters.
I tend to think of BT as more similar to WH than DH
(outside of the obvious alliance parallels).
BT seem to me to be more "Holy Warrior", where DH are more "anti-Daemon".
The BT "abhor the witch" vow smacks loudly of this.
What else do we have that draws BT & WH together?
Sisters Repentia: Wow what beautiful models! Wow what terrible rules! -stjohn70
I'm not super up on Templar, but don't they have a similar quality to holy rage?
De gustibus non est disputandum.
The Imperium Emporium: Jeb's Imperial Curiosities plog, starting with Grey Knights!
Both were rogue elements at the time of their founding, in some way opposed to the imperial powers that be and underwent a transformation/vow. The BT Vow system is in a way similar to Faith powers. Special abilities are conferred on the army from their commitment to service to the emperor.
There's also a bit of fluff in Codex:BT about a Crusade allying with a convent of sisters.
They have very similar colour schemes. Both groups favour black and white a lot, with the odd bit of red and with metallic colours of usually gunmetal, silver and gold. Both groups are also very fond of carrying icons and decorations on themselves and their vehicles.
Both need to get up close and in the face of the enemy to do real damage...
They're both based off of Catholic elements. BT are very Knights Templar, and so have some of the more Catholic/Monastic look. WH, SoB, ARE female monks not to mention the Fluer-De-Lis etc. Nuns with Guns.
Personally I have a BT force, which fluffwise is on the same Crusade as my upcoming WH force, and the color schemes are similar enough they look nice together.
I need the bugger so I can see!
