Well having left warhammer 40k for a few years i have decided its time to come back...and with a vengence, now with this new witch hunters codex out, i though of doing a 'pure' sisters army, now is this army competitive?
T was going for two units of sisters
unit of flying sisters,
unit of elite sisters,
unit of special weapon sisters in a immolator,
an exorsist or two....
and a preist for a penitant engine (love them!!!
and a Connesse(sp?)
maybe some heavy sisters
Thats about all i've thought of, obviously i'd have a few rhinos thrown in for good effect, but as a basis can this army pack a punch?
Wow, you just vaguely described every other SoB army out there.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
sisters were not competative before the witch hunters codex. Some commanders became very good with sisters armies, and could play them competatively. They sometimes owned all of their tourniments. When witch hunters comes out, you will have assult units (repentia), dreadnaughts(penitent engine), and high armor vehicles(gave the exrosist front armor 13). The sisters army might become competative, especially because of the ally/induction rules.
Perhaps the affect will be that sisters commanders are un-beatable. Just as likely, sisters commanders will become decadent, and weak just like all of those space marines commanders who are afraid to deploy their troops in line of sight of the enemy because they are afraid of being shot at.
After playing my first ever official witch hunters army game last night i can tell you this much...do not even think about relying on your lovely Faith Points as you might have in their previous incarnation, with the roll under/over the squad number the actual timing that you will be able to use (not waste) faith points will be very restrictive.
In a way i think that because of this i will have to dramaticaly change the way i am used to play with them (Seraphims for mobility and Acts of Faith for punch) to the boring field as many and as harder models you can within the points limit.
In direct relation to your list, i think that more than ever, it will depend of the kind of army you're going for...shooty, hand to hand, combination, etc but it would probably be better off in the army list section...
