I have heard a couple of references made to Combat Patrol rules in the forum here. I have a copy of the 4th Ed rulebook and the Imperial Guard Codex (although I will admit that I haven't searched through them particularly strenuously or anything), and I haven't seen this set of rules mentioned. Can someone direct me to where I might find these rules? Or if they're not written down anywhere "officially", can someone fill me in as to what Combat Patrol entails?
Combat patrol, or to use its original name, 40K in 40 minutes, is detailed in the rule book, it is designed for games in under an hour, usually at 400 points, although often extended up to 750 at campaign weekends, it uses basic 40K rules but has additionall ones to prevent the force org chart from stopping and army from reaching the table or from uber powerfulthings ruining the game, if you look in the index on the main rule book you should find the extra rules (it is against ipr/copyright to state them here)
Everything you have been told is a lie!
It's on page 182 of the rulebook.
Cry woe, destruction, ruin and decay;
The worst is death, and death will have his day.
-Shakespeare; King Richard II
Ah, there it is, all buried in the middle. I've been focusing on trying to learn the rules for the main game, so I haven't spent much time rooting about in all the extras. Thanks for the information!
