    Anyone going for the Hellhammer?

Hey guys, Apoc's been out for a bit now so I'm wondering how many people built their baneblades as hellhammers. Of those of you who have, how has it been working for you? Is it worth doing?

what do you call a lasgun with a laser sight?

Yes i use the hellhammer as i like the way it looks, as to its use it requires a little more thought than the baneblade as the weapons are shorter ranged i flank mine with sentanals(spl)and try to keep the sides and rear covered, it is an assult tank dont keep it static go hunting with it as my chaos opponant found out s10 ap1 7"blast and no cover kills deep striking termies. My only gripe is that the flamers dont use the hellstorm template/inferno cannon rules so they are nearly useless in most cases but i use the sponsons for the las cannon, but i do enjoy the hellhammer and most opponants dont expect it so they get nervy and in terrain it rocks, so just go for it.

Thats cool to hear. I must agree with you on the flamers though, when I saw those I thought "well there's something that wont do anything". What is the point in twin linking a weapon that doesnt use BS? I guess it's just for fluff and looks. Speaking of looks did you do any custom modelling on it to make it distinctly yours? I don't do much of that myself, as guardsmen aren't worth the bother to custom model, but if I were to get a legendary unit I would definately want to make it unique.

I personally will be building it as a Baneblade. The cannon seems to be pretty solid, it just those damn flamers. I mean come on WHY?? If they would even put like multi lasers or let you keep the heavy bolters I would consider it but not with the flamers as the only option.

But if you like the idea I'd say go for it.

I have both a Baneblade and a Hellhammer. I use the Hellhamer quite often because I play mostly city fights. It has a great phycological effect on your opponent. I move it down a street and have infantry in the buildings on its flanks for flank protections. Has worked every time for me

I prefer the range of the Baneblade cannon and the fact that it uses a bigger template. It the Apocalyse games I've been playing the enemy hasn't had a lot in the way of cover anyway and its mostly been nids I've been against, so a 10" template makes big holes even when it scatters.

I would build the baneblade if I bought one. Just because I like pie plates.:party2:
