alright, ive asked this AT Least once before and i havent ever got a real definitave answer. i have got a few models for the marines and i am going to paint them, but i dunno what chaper to be. my choices are as follows:
1) Black Templars
(Really cool paint scheme... and name too)
2) Blood Angels
(ok with a name like that, red armour and cc prowess feard rightly, who wouldent live em(assuming your not on the other side of hte board))
(Vanilla... versitile... (changed from Imperial Fists... cant apint Yellow) and i find their paint scheme oddly cool)
ok, can ya tell me what youd pick, advantages, disadvantages to each, and a little shove in the right direction for Strat/Army list
thanks in advance peeps
The Guardsmen Legions, we fight for the freedom!
Well, choosing a chapter is ultimately up to you, whichever you like best.
I'd first look through the background, or fluff on these chapters. Their respective Codeces (Vanilla for Crimson Fists) and Index Astartes articles will be very useful here.
They also have diferent play styles and organizations
1) BT: Totally unique organization, no Scouts, Devastators, or Librarians. Scouts, or Neophytes are put into normal Tac Squads, which have access to more stuff than normal Tac Squads and not Vets. Mandatory EC, unrestricted LRC use, special Assault Squads, vows, and some other quirks make the Black Templars a very hard, and different cc army.
2) BA: Basically Vanilla with an emphasis towards assault, with Death Company, BA Scouts, Honor Guard, and Veteran Assault Squads. They posess a unique character, which, in addtion to their brutality in combat, is very appealing to many people. I just love their "tragic hero" feel, which is why I'm starting a Flesh Tearers army, that and Death Company Dreadnoughts
3) Crimson Fists are Vanilla, but they hate Orks, having lost their Fortress Monastery and the majority of their chapter to the little green blighters (Rynn's World Incident) and are slowly being rebuilt with the help of the Inquisition (kiss up lapdogs )
As I said before, it's all up to you.
I can only show you the door, you must open it.

I'd say go Blood Angels, but that might be a little biased because i play BA.
good luck choosing your chapter cause after a run down like that don't you want to be them all? Right now I am furthur inclined to BT, very different but I hate their color scheme though, SO boring. The whole black and white thing went out with Micheal Jackson
...and you will know my name is the lord, when I strike down my vengence upon thee...
you shouldn't come to us looking for an answer, make the decision yourself.
DUDE... play the scythes of the emperor. They kick butt!!!!
why dont you choose a chapter that no one else uses? ie. Fleash tearers?
I adopted a cute lil' pikachu fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus! </a>
<a href='http://kevan.org/brain.cgi?M_O_R_T_I_S' target='_blank'>I FOUND THE UNTIMATE WH40K WEBSITE!</a>
thats why i told him to go scythes of the emperor... i dont see many doing tthem.
You could also make your own. It'll probably better fit your fighting style.
Out of the ones listed, I'd say Crimson Fists. The CF chapter is a very badass chapter, because they are CONSTANTLY getting the stuffing beat out of them. Look in all the fluff and pictures- in the front of the SM codex they are there dying, in the Chaos codex, they're getting stomped, etc. Any chapter that can take that much of a beating, and still be a chapter is just awesome. And they're special character is badass too! Sure, the model sucks, but he held a breach in a wall against Orks for a long time, BY HIMSELF.
They're just tough, and awesome- I'd do them.
