Hi i am Currently working on a Dark Angels Successor Chapter. In the Codex It Says that i can use the rules in the Codex for the Characters. I Just have to come up with new names, does this mean that i have to rename both the characters and the weapons or just the characters.8Y
You can rename both the characters and the special wepaons they have if you want to but otherwise just the characters is fine.
You may want to rename the deathwing and ravenwing just to give your army its own unique feel.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
Thats good information. I have a little bit of a story line that I started tinkering with writing calling them the Dark Hunters. A specialty Successor chapter devoted with an extreme zealot desire to hunt down the Fallen.
about 7500 pts of Dark Angels, probably a sub chapter with the way I have them painted up with copper edging and all.
I have a DA successors chapter story that I've been kicking around for a while, I call them the Archangels.
The basic idea was that the DA successor chapter thought that painting their armor red with grey trim and green eye pieces was sneaky enough that the emblem (which is intentionally reminiscent of the DA one) and name would go unnoticed. They have a little more freedom than most of the Unforgiven (who are essentially extensions of the Dark Angels if I understood correctly, somewhat like how the Black Templars have a lot of crusades, but are all Templars), simply due to their geographical distance and attempts at subtlety.
To be fair, the subtlety has it so the majority of the Imperium doesn't see the connection, only the higher-ups. Most Space Marine chapters know, the Eldar know (just because), Chaos knows (see: Fallen), and the Inquisition wished that it knew.
They also have interactions with one of the chapters that I was requested to write about a few months ago.
This chapter has obvious differences and quirks, and that makes them interesting. Since your chapter appears to be a carbon copy of the DA, try and flesh them out. Maybe they have found an equivalently-sized Fallen force and have been hunting them since, and sometimes drop out of contact for decades at a time. Maybe they are running from the Inquisition, or their brethren Unforgiven, for perceived chaos-ness. The DAs would want them out of the picture just as much as the inquisition in that scenario, but for different reasons. (Investigations of chaos tend to put the Unforgiven on edge).
Terminator armor going critical would be like Three Mile Island only very, VERY angry, and carrying a hammer.
LO rules in a nutshell: Don't post unit costs, be polite, rep posts containing of win.
