In the past I played Blood Angels, but I have decided to change to a simple divergent codex chapter. I have a model question in regards to tournament play. Can I use the models of Dante, Tycho, etc to depict my Commander, etc? Not the actualy rules and wargear for Dante just the minature to depict my Master Commander.
For friendly games you should just need to be clear about what the commander has, regardless of the model you use to represent him.
For tournaments you generally have the WYSIWIG rule (What You See Is What You Get). This would mean that your 'Commander' would have to be equiped with a Bolt Pistol and Combi-Melta to use the Tycho model (Iron Halo and Artificer armour aren't modeled, so that can be up to you).
In neither case could you use the special rules and/or equipment, unless your army was Codex: Blood Angels (i.e., BA or a BA successor).
what am I, the pope?
That makes sense. I was thinking along the lines. If my Commander was equiped with a jump pack, power weapon, and a bolt pistol I would use Dante. If equiped with a Combi Bolt/Metlagun I would use Tycho. But of course not using any of the special rules from the BA codex. For a librarian equiped with a force weapon and plasma pistol I would then use Mephiston. Or say using Shrike to represent a commander with jump pack and twin lightning claws.
I guess I just find the "named" models that much cooler than the generics ones.
There are some great models in there. I field Shrike from time to time as his generic cousin, Commodore Steve, a regular commander with LC's and a Jump Pack.
