I was never a fan of the redemptionist, only because it was soo unbalanced that it made the battle sisters less apealing. I like an all sisters force, so I have so far avoided things like priest and Inquisiters. In the past, 20 redemptionist dropping flame templates on your aponent couldn't be beaten. Especially not for their insanely low point cost.
Now the redemptionist are back. They were in the latest white dwarf #292, and have been balanced. Also, you now need 2 sisters of battle troop choices to field them. In addition to this they have been made zealots of the Ecclesiarchy faith, not zealots of the redemptionist which are actually a different cult (thus the sisters shouldn't have been in the same force before), and it was only a popular cult on Necromunda I beleive.
The question is, who is going to dig up their redemptionist and use them again? Do you think the new rules warrent using them? What role do you think they will play in your army list?
Personally i haven't seen the new rules for them, you didn't specify if the White Dwarf was US or UK (maybe people should start doing it) so i don't really know what they can be good at, what i can say is thal i only ever used the redenptionists in a hand full of games in the past 6 months using them to field 2 autocannons to help out a little in anti armour role...
It's probably the US issue. The UK one just had a preview of the Witch Hunters' codex and painting tips.
I certainly didn't see any of this in the Asia-pacific edition of WD.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
there is definatly nothing about it in the UK side of things, id have thought that any new rules/uninits/other stuff would be in UKedtiton first seeing as its the home of GW and 40K, u sure u are reading someting right??
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.

AFAIK, the new rules will be released in the UK in the next WD, around 27th April.
For some reason, UK WD is released slightly later than the US edition.
Hey, at least we got the codex first
The WD UK will be released (as in the past two months) on the last friday of every month... before that it was always jumping from one day to the next and making a lot of comfusion among the buyers....
So the redemptionists may be in the next WD here in the good old UK on the next release?
Hopefully im curious and new to sisters of battle/witch hunters. Also slightly --off topic-- why realise these new rules just after the codex realise? why werent these redemptionists in the codex? it would make far more sense as the codex has just been recently.... sometimes GW confuses me

Lack of space, publication deadlines, etc. The Time between final layout of a Codex and final layout of a magazine is very different (I think). I wouldn't be suprised if they finished the article a month after finishing typesetting and just decided to hold it till the first WD after WH came out.
hehe, yeah its the US white dwarf. The reason why the white dwarfts all come out at different times is because of localization. Its not that they are translated, but in many cases they have entirely different forums written by different people.
So the US might have one person on the US white dwarf staff write an articall about making a skaven castle, but the UK might have some one from the UK white dwarf write an article on dark elf sorcerors (or sorcress' instead. Some people will subscribe to both the UK and the US white dwarf for this reason.
Back to the redemptionist, does any one in the US (or elsewhere when your white dwarf issue comes out) intend to use them?
