Either depends on my mood
I have been looking through the posts of a lot of Ravenwing lists.
It seems that most people put Samuel on a Land Speeder. I can understand the allure of this although I am a person who prefers him on a jetbike.
My reasons for this are as follows:
He has the adamantium mantle meaning he cannot be instant killed;
He has a decent ammount of firepower with his plasmacannon hitting on 2s;
He can fight in close combat;
He is just as quick on the jetbike as he is on the landspeeder.
So I am curious which version of Samuel do people prefer and why?

There is nothing more annoying when your Wyches with Plasma Grenades get "Always strikes First" for their combat drugs!
The rest is still true, however - and this is also the option I choose. But yeah. He cannot join units, and can be picked out easily when being shot at.

Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
Remember though, not being an independant character he can be joined by them. Can we say Interrogator-Chaplain on a bike...messy on the charge.

It depends on the enemy. Against shooty armies, take the jetbike, because it is very flexible and can shoot (very nice plasma cannon with BS 5) AND can attack in CC with a 18" movement. Against CC armies I would take the speeder, because AV14, synchro asscannon and HB with BS5 are a very good deal. If rending became less effective in 5th edition, I will always take the jetbike.
Also worth noting: The name is Sammael, not Samuel

i'd go on the jetbike based on pure aesthatics.... the bikes are just cool.... =p but then again, i don't play Sammael.... so, i guess my opinion counts for nothing anyway....
i take him on a landspeeder if i take 2 other landspeeders, form them up back to back in the centre so that his RA cannot be targeted and you have BS5 rerollable heavy bolters and assault cannons.
if i take him on his JB i hook him up with a chaplain on a bike and go HQ hunting.
