I am a major fluff addict and love adding things to my army that help flesh out the backstory. Since Vostroyans look so old world, I have thought about somehow adding things like tents, campfires,
and have even tried to figure out how to have an ambulance standing by. (I know. . .sounds ridiculous. But I didn't say that I've actually done it.) I see that Forge World sells stuff for the Imperial Guard like fuel tankers, power generators, enclosed cargo flatbeds, etc. I have no doubt that one day I will own these, but without asking anyone to give out any copyrighted info, do pieces like that add anything to the fight? Do they cost points to field (just yes or no would be fine)
Lastly, if anyone owns any of these things, could I get you to post photos of finished (painted) pieces?
Like you posted as "accessories" the majority are just that and do not add anything past cosmetic value. Where I play they are commonly used to represent CoD strategems but I don't have any pics of them handy. I wish I could afford them as well but the funds for a 40 dollar fake plastic gas tank is probably better spent elsewhere. I do suppose you could make rules for the equipment for scenarios and such.
You could always just incorporate them into some scenery or something.
Power generators and fuel tanks especially make good objectives for objective based games.

I would suggest the same. making objective markers out of say a a tent and a wounded man could be done. It coudl lead to some interesting scenarios.
NIght attack on vostroyan camp:
night fight rules,
vostroyans setup within x inches of their tents which form one corner of the board roughly. Each stand of tents burnt down buy thje enemy gains them victory points. USe reserve rules to show muster.
Could lead to some fun scenarios, could also be incorporated into a map based campaign.
Hope that helps
Tid bits are good to just give some character to an army, especially IG where probably the majority of players will use Cadians. I have used left over bits from the Space Wolves sprues to add wolf heads and arms to my officers, sergeants and standard. I have a couple of wolves I might paint up just to have with my HSO.
This is when your bivouac scenario, along with objectives, would definitely come into play. Also would justify fuel trucks, generators, etc.
Does no one own any of these things?. . .a picture or two would be superb!
Well I dont own any of the forge world stuff but I can show you how to build your own.

Thanks. I swear, everybody on this site has more talent than I! For both your skill and generosity, here's a rep right atcha!
Indeed some of us have more skill but that is why we are here, to help others gain the same knowlage. Thank you, good luck, and done hesitate to ask me other questions.
While we're here I've been furiously looking for a large tent - about 6inches tall, roman style. I don't mind if it's solid or plastic,as i intend to:
If it's solid cut the top off (Taking care so with a couple of dowels/drill holes it can be reattached) and hollow out the inside, then base it
Or if it's hollow, fill with plaster bar a section in the middle, and base it
Paint it up with my armys camo scheme, and a great big aquilla,
Paint up 2x guardsmen outside the front entrance "flaps"
And put my tape measure and all dice inside, plonking it down at the beginning of the game as my "command tent" - it'd have no effect on the game and will be moved if LOS/any rules/movement may be affected.
Does anyone have any idea where to get one?
(I saw one walking past a toy shop on my honeymoon in italy, but there's a time and a place to get away with that kind of stuff. That wasn't it.)
