Does anyone besides me think it would be cool to re-create a model of Black Hawk Down, using Cadians as the US troops and Valkyries as UH-60's, i just don't what to use for the Little Birds, maybe Thunderbolts. And using Chimera's to make up the Aromred company of Humvees
We who have seen war will never stop seeing it....In the silence of the night, we will always hear the screams....
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! u stole my idea(im working on it right now) you could even have a russ or 2 because the armored collumn from the stadium did have a few tanks
use grenadiers in the transports in the collumn and vets to infiltrate onto rooftops, and use more stormtroopers to ride the valkyries(good song to play while using army lol) to the rooftops and give vets carapace armor docterine.
it could make a suprisingly successful army if you do it right(foward fire base, releif collumn, extremely fast moving squads because of valkyries, lots of air cover, etc it actually is a pretty good army idea that ive been working on for a while(forgeworld charges too much...)
Thats just it - all this is purely speculative because it'd cost over a thousand dollars I'd anticipate. I don't know how that army would deal with very solid troops that didn't care about being outmaneuvered - Deathwing for instance. Although I don't know how many suits of Tactical Dreadnought Armour and assault cannons stalked the streets of Mogadishu during Gothic Serpent, haha.
We were contemplating a scenario but using marines as the trapped forces needing rescue. Black-Thunder-hawk down if you will.
The reason for this was that 10 or so guard survivours of a crashed Valk with their puny toughness and silly armour saves would just be gunned down on the first or second turn by the besieging units (orks or chaos guard we thought) leaving nothing to rescue. If the crashed forces were Marines they could hold their own against the enemy while the armoured column of Cadians fought their way through and the Elysian drop troops ferried in reinforcements to bolster the perimiter.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
THere was a gamesday table like that call "thunderhawk down". The marines had a convoy of rhinos to run through the city and the baddies were chaos cultists with missile launchers.
