    I am wondering if anyone had played in the 40K in a Flash with the 500 point limit and if so what opinions can you give me for an army?

    These are the rule for the store I play at:

    500 points
    1 HQ (optional)
    Army does not have to conform to organizational chart.
    +2 save or better.

    What do you mean "+2 save or better"? Do you mean they allow 2+ saves? 'Cause if so I would just take two squads of GK terminators.

    maybe an inquisitor squad with two squads of grey knights with psycannons

    never played 40k in 40 minutes before so i dunno

    The question is do you want ISTs?

    If you don't (and like GK) then get as many regular GK as possible. Don't worry about special weapons like psycannons and incinerators. Your regular GK have good shooting as is. Being expensive anyway, 500 points isnt much to work with.

    Since you can't take any terminators, but dont have to worry about Org charts I'd say take at least 2, maybe 3 squads of GK in power armor.

    I would take:

    2 GK Troop squads w/5 GK + Justicar
    1 GK Fast Attack squad w/4 GK + Justicar

    That give you 3 Justicars (w/power weapons) and 14 GK in power armor, for a total of 17 guys. Not a lot, but 3 squads will give you a little bit more maneuverability. Plus, a small deep striking unit. Alternately, cut down to 2 bigger GK squads

    2 GK Troop squads w/8 GK + Justicar, for a total of 18 GK in power armor. Less maneuverability but stronger squads.

    The only problem with these is the lack of anti-tank weaponry. If someone does throw an AV13 or 14 vehicle you'll be in trouble. Still, it's unlikely at 500 points anyone will be able to afford one. Maybe drop one GK to pick up meltabombs for your 2 justicars just in case. Or... drop the 3rd GK squad and take a Dreadnought if you're allowed to take them.

    No AV limiting rules? Most 40min games I've seen/played have a limit of 11 or 12 for AV. Regardless, take two as-full-as-possible GK squads, meltabombs on both justicars, and possibly 1 incinerator per squad (500 points of gaunts is still a lot&#33.

    If you have some IST's, take two squads of those, something like 4-6 strong, no vet, and 2 plasma/melta weapons. thats like 60-80 points, not bad and allows you to take out any vehicles involved, plus a good chance of taking out high T/high Sv models.

    If you take an Inq, don't worry about a plasma cannon. Instead, a couple of heavy bolter servitors, or plasma gun guardsmen work well. Alternately, don't give him a retinue, gear him for CC, and stick him into an IST squad.

    And if you do take an Inq, grab a Death Cult Assassin or two. For their cost, they'll tear through most anything that would be in a small game like that.

    My own list for 500 point 40min games is:

    6 GK (1 Incinerator)
    Justicar (meltabombs)

    6 GK (1 Incinerator)
    Justicar (meltabombs)

    5 IST (2 Plasma guns)

    I do have quite a few IST's, I was thinking along the same lines as Megalomamiac. What sucks is that we dont have a lot of choices with HQ's

    It may sound expensive but think about taking an assasin. A callidus (phase sword) could be very very useful in such few points games.
    Personally, just today, I used a vindicare in 400 points 40k in 40' game. He destroyed a rhino (with turbo-penetretor shot) killed two plasma bearing chaos marines, a wolf lord (? from a wulfen army, I don't remember his exact title) and finally tied down a unit of 9 chaos SM for 2 turns in close combat before dying.
    Fairly good performance.

    Yeah I used the assassin in my last game and she was able to wipe the floor with many of the troops that i faced. She is definately worth the points.
