I really didn't like the Attilan RR models too much so I decided to do a bit of conversion to get a RR squad that would fit my army.
After surfing around and falling in and out of love with a Cold One's conversion (It just looked to dang hard to get the legs right), I opted to go with some Silver Helms and a Box o' Cadians.
They are looking pretty good so far and I was happy that the legs and the torso's blend pretty well together.
In the end, I should have 8 RR and some left over Cadians to put together for about 70 bucks, which came out cheaper than buying 8 Attilans that I didn't like anyway.
I just wanted to see what other folks had done to get their RR out there.
I figured I wasn't the only person that disliked the Attilan models.

You could always mount your RR on Warhounds of Chaos. It works and looks really sweet.
I looked at the cold ones. Then i looked at the riders and thought " i could use the heads and torsos as the creature feature "phasing" beasties, if i did cold pour resinswirly circles, with them stepping out of it.
Then i saw the dirt bike conversions and:
Have scrounged, bought for peanuts and collected 12 HW "loose" missiles
got 6x SM handlebars amongst others for £ 5.5 inc p&p (well spotted bits auction of leftover DA on ebay)
Brought in a bring and buy for £10 5x jetbikes and 3x vyper jetbikes. Sold vipers for £9
oh, and spare bits and bobs off my tank sprues (aquillas, heavy stubber bits)
Have x6 metal old IG HW wheels, need 6x more only for:
using the jetbike seats, metal rear wheel, up to a steering column with suspension made from HW missiles (another metal wheel) and the marine handlebars, for a 6x man cadian dirtbike Rough rider squad. I may even try to do the last one as a comissar on a chopper, (as a Vet sgnt with HI)
oh, and i'm considering some lances as spears tipped with spare mortar shells on the end.
oohh yeah, just 6x more wheels to go. (and some packe etc to cover snagging up.)
to look like this:

I did something similar with an empire knightly order. I added Rommel's goggles and hat (WWII kit) to sergeant, spare power sword, crisis suit head being stepped on by horse, shaved off empire heraldry, and added imperial gear. (cut off feathers as well.) They look pretty damn good. Good Luck with silver helms! EDIT: Barding = Carapace Armour

i did the cold ones and i think they look great
the leg conversion isnt that bad if you have enough bits to help cover it up, and everyone is more scared of them than the atillian roughriders(1st unit killed by shooting lol, whirlwind)
Hellhounds are good tanks
Satan - "**** you Kage! And **** you Jables! I'll get you Tenacious DDDDdddddddeeeeee!!!!!!"
I used the empire pistoliers/outriders box, as the horses dont have barding on them, and with suitable bedrolls and equipment from IG and SM scout sets, and Cadian bits, they fit in quite well with my mordians
PLAN CLAN MAN!!
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man- S. Johnson
I converted mine so they look like centaurs. It's pretty damn awesome!
Imperial Guard: 3000 pts
Chaos Daemons: 1000 pts
And those bikes look bad arse.
I am going to have to try that method for the legs and see if I can make it work.
I like the Silverhelm legs and all, but if I CAN have my Cadian style shin guards, I want it.
I don't mind the RR's looking a little more elite with the extra armor on the bottom, but if I can avoid it, I will.
Thanks for the link!
I like the bikes in the article but I'm using outider horses, glade rider legs, Cadian torsos & arms, and ACW heads from Foundry for my Union/Confederate Cavalry (I mean RRs).
I still need to come up with something for the lances.
Yes, there are female marines and my Sunhawks will let you know in a major way.
Not all the Emperors Children turned coat. We will redeem our name.
I am also considering shoving some undead into my undead-chaos/zombie 40k IG army.
