ok, I play Daemonhunters obviously. I want to start a Blood Angle army, but am unsure how to go about it. I want a very fast moving assault army, of one of two strategies:

1)vehicle based, everything is in a rhino or deep-striking
2) tons of troops, most of which have jump packs or Deep-strike, the rest in rhinos

I am thinking the first one is the better, using roughly this ideal list:

BA Chaplin, in Rhino with Death Company
DH Grand Master & Terminator Retinue, Deep-Strike (to Teleport Homer?)
2 BA Tactical Squads, in Rhinos
Callidus Assassin
10 Grey Knights (deep-strike)
BA Assault Squad, or Seraphims
Devastator Squad, in a Rhino

or I could go heavy on the Jump Packs, giving them to the Chaplin and Death Company, use Seraphims and a couple units of Assault Squads, the only thing that I HAVE to have that cant have Jump Packs, is the Tactical Squads

what does everyone think? any advice for a new Blood Angels Player ???

Err, whats a Blood Angle?

Honestly, there is no real advice I can give you, I tend to look down on BA players. I guess the best thing for you is to get your guys to the front of their guys, and choppy them.

Ok man this is what you do,
Get a Death Company with Chaplin & jump packs
get 2 tac. squads with lascannons in each squad.
A Vet. Assult Squad 1 with flamer 1 with melta gun all have jump packs
Dev. Squad 3 plasma cannons and 1 heavy bolter
hmmm.... what else....... o a razorback with 1 tac. squad with twin linked las. cannons
Dred. With Lascanon and rockets
and fill in the rest of the gaps with like another tac. squad or dred. if you want. O yea if you can make most of your sargents get power wepons they rule with power wepons.

Welcome, Son of Sanguinius, to the Blood Angels

For a mobile-assaulty army, both of your ideas are good, but I'd go for the jump packing army, a solid firebase of Tactical Marines, with infitlrating Scouts, with DC, Vet Assault Squads, and Assault Squads flying around, with GKs popping in to cause some serious damage.

However, I would not totally rely on Daemonhunters/Witch hunters, especially when not playing against daemon/psyker-heavy armies.

Ultimately it's up to you, but I think a jump-packing army is a fresh change in pace from the usual Rhino-rush BA

I'd personally go for the jump packs. Vehicles are just too much of a target and they get shot down really easily. However, I would include maybe 1 rhino, a pred, and maybe a LR just for the heck of it.

Thats why you have to be smart with your men. Keep Jump Packs in Cover they only have bolt pistols and you should move them cover to cover. Then when the times right come out shoot them up then charge. He hE
Thats what i do and i havent lost in a while thats just 1 strat i use with jump packs.

another reason why you might want more tactical squads or scout squads is that you have a good chance of a cheap unit joining the death company.

Yea your right a bout that
Sometimes I either make 10 man squads or just sep. squads but the thing about the 10 man squads is that if you don't roll a make for death company in that squad then you got a squad of 10 men so yeah i would go for the sep. squads.
But i only have 1 and i get enough death company to last. Usally get around 7-14
But yea Death Company rule.
