Well most of the IG players out there play regular IG and Cadians or Catachans and a new popular one is Steel Legion, but have any of you made your own team and I don't mean something like an off shoot I mean a set of your own rules.

For instance I made a Necromundan army with rules and everything

HQ: Choices
Master Spyer May pick any Spyer equipment Choice note if gets the exact same as a Spyer school then you can add an extra of that type to your Army.

Cawdor,Delaque,Goliath,Escher,Orlock,and Van Saar Gang leaders.

...gtg will add more later

well... there are these things called "doctrines" that the IG has in the new codex that allow you to completely custimize your IG. that is to say you can make any type of guard you want, it can be from anywhere you want, and it will have a rather "unique" set of rules for it. and best thing about it... it's 100% legal.

I use the new cadians, and if anyone is familiar with the boardgame twilight imperium I have my guard play as the "Federation of Sol" they are leet. They have simple but awsome uniforms. Grey clothes with greenish-blueish gray plates, with black ink on the cloth. The also have the F of Sol insignia on the left shoulderplate. It is a large yellow cicle(the sun) with a smaller green circle in front of it and too the side a little(Jord aka Earth). On a funny note, the fluff in the game rule book states that the capital of Jord(Earth) is "New Moscow" ha ha ha. But they are not communist, they are a Federal Republic/Empire which works for the guard and is wicked coo

I dont have a scanner so I cant post them, I wish I could, I am also experimenting with another scheme, blue plates with blueish-greenish grey cloth with the plates drybrushed with the grayish. it looks slick, on another note, when I was painting the other day guess what movie was on, Starship Troopers  , it made my painting experiance more enjoyable (even if it was a little distracting). Anyway I also agree that the Federation of Sol is the best race in the game.
The plans for my army is I'm taking
-drop troops
-close order drill
-carapace armor
-sharpshooters
-special weapon teams

I'm having no vehicles in my army to make the enemy(90% SM) waste their precious pts spent on melta-bombs and lascannons. Hahahahahaha, "boots will always defeat treads" but if my opponent allows Imperial Armor I may be inclined to take 3 Basilisk Platforms @ 75pts each (that IS incliding indirect fire mind you)

Mine are:

-Carapace armour
-Sharpshooters
-Grenadiers
-Veterans
-Techpriest Enginseer

The doctrines are good because it really lets you go mad with making an army, although then you have to make fluff and all sorts to go with the regiment otherwise they're like, the unknowns.

BTW, five doctrine slots is a little tightfisted as well isn't it?
They could have at least made it 6, i was one away from having an unbeatable army................................
