hey, ive only done it for fun, cause its so exspensive points wise
but anyone else out there run 5x psycannons in there DH devi squad?
(4x on the GK and you can give your Justicar 1x from the armoury)
You can't upgrade a justicar's weapons you can only give him wargear
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
Agreed, no psycannons for Justicars =). I used a 5-psycannon Purgation squad before I realized that Justicars couldn't take weapons. It was pretty darned fierce. I remember playing my buddy's 'nids, and pretty much just picking one brood per turn to make disappear =).
Nonetheless, in hindsight, I don't think I'd give a psycannon to a Justicar even if it were allowed. It seems such a shame to waste his high-strength power-weapon attacks at full initiative as an assault deterrent. Plus, you end up with an 80-point model that's not any better than a 50 point model. I also think it tends to be a waste of force, since so often I was causing more unsaved wounds than he had models in his broods. Really, even 4 psycannons in a squad is pushing it, in my mind. I'd prefer to be able to spread the shots out more.
Though, if you wanted to get really crazy, you could stick a psycannon-toting brother-captain, and three Inquisitors in a 4xPurgation squad for a total of 8 psycannons in a squad =).
Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.
If you're intruiged by doctors who are also ninjas, then this is the webcomic for you!
I could see it being pretty darn scary in a non-pure GK force. In pure Grey Knights, though, I'd be worried that I couldn't get enough wounds on the table; every Psycannon you take is a Grey Knight not taken. I don't think a Psycannon is always worth a full Grey Knight - extra wound, extra attacks, extra shooting. I can definitely think of some times where it's beneficial, no doubt, but I'd personally just prefer getting some more units.
In the codex it says you can give your justicar any equipment from the daemonhunter armory not from wargear. There's even an FAQ out in the last year clarifying that Justicars CAN in fact take psycannons.
That said, it's still probably not a great idea.
Also, as said above, you could add some other chars (like inquisitors w/ psycannons) to the squad for an insanely psycannon heavy unit.
About Justicar's and weapons.
Page 29 of the codex states 'The Justicar may be given any equipment allowed from the Daemonhunters armoury'.
Now, allowed is the key word because in the armoury it states 'Grey Knights in power armour may only choose from the wargear list .......' which means no weapon swaps etc.
Hope this helps clear this one up.
One way is to use green stuff and cover the bolter of the 'bolter and book' DH inquisitor.
I'm not that great with greenstuff yet. The only other psycannon wielding model I know, apart from PAGK is the Terminator blister pack. I would probably have to use the whole Terminator arm or cut of at the hand? Any other suggestions?
Weapons dont have to be shown on the model, they can also be carried by any of the henchmen. Im using the cherub madel carring the bolter and just doing the above idea with green stuff (and im only doing that because im using the Solomon Lok model). To be honest thats the best way because if you get the one off the terminator youll still have to use green stuff to neaten the joins. Tips for green stuff is to keep it wet while modeling, only using SMALL ammounts and building up bit by bit and STOP when your happy. Dont go OTT like i did with my vet serg, his right arm looks like its been on steroids! Oh and cant remember off the top of my head but for referance im sure theres a picture of the =][= with-book-and-converted-psy-cannon-model in the deamon hunters codex.
