Greetings! I am a Tau player, who when looking for a new army to build/play about 6 months ago, bought a box set of 5 sisters of battle(4 sisters, 1 sister sp.). I didnt buy anymore because a friend of mine told me about the new models and codex, now known as the "witch hunters." The box set was one realsed before the whole "witchhunters" hubub. So, they dont look the same as the new models, mainly the sister superior. Ive painted 2 out the five very nicely(spending about 3 hours on each) and Id like to be able to use them in my Sisters army once it gets to a useable size.

My Question : do the old models look that different from the new ones???

Also, For a small army (less than 800) what would be the next thing I should grab?

I am not 100% certain about the 'new' models, I still use all of my old figures, I hear that the new cannoness has a few extra parts in her box, but besides that everthing is the same for sisters, the vehicles are different especially the Exorcist missle launcher. Hope this helps.

using old models is perfectly acceptable, and more so i think if they were the current ones not less than a month or so ago, so you shouldnt have a problem with that part

Thanks for the info. I think Ill just paint them up and use them anyway, if anything, it will be nice to have my sisters superiors look alot differnet from each other.
I dont have any vehicles so the new vehicles will probably be what im getting anyway. Thanks agian.

The older models you were talking about are the same models that they are re releasing. The only thing is that there are some new sister superior and special weapons models. Along with the cannonesses and Repentia models

actually the face masks have always been around. There are pictures of girls with Sabbat pattern helmets in the 3rd edition 40k rule book. I think I even saw a couple in the 2nd edition codex. They are more common with the new minies though.

The only problem with the older Sister Superior models is that their weapon fits are totally inappropriate for 3rd Edition 40K. They don't have 2 close combat weapons, instead taking Bolter + CC weapon instead, which doeasn't really work all that well.

Otherwise, the new sisters models you're seeing are rereleases of the old ones. The models rock regardless, some of Jes Goodwin's finest works, so you'll have no problem using them.

Doesn't one of the old sister superior models have a bolter grenade launcher combi weapon when its illegal for sisters to use them?

I think you might be mistaken, the only model with a combi i can remember used to be the canoness with a combi-flamer and Inquisition symbol on the other hand....
