Greetings to all servants of the Immortal Emperor of Mankind!
As you may have noticed in the other forums, the mod community has decided it's time to update our subforum titles. Right now, the Imperial Guard's title is "Duty and Honour."
A fine title, but we'd like to give it a new one, and we want YOU to help! This thread is for discussing and submitting ideas. Post your favorite quote, slogan or description here. After a few days, I will collect the submissions together and post a poll with the best. The forum subtitle will be changed to the winning entry in the poll.
Well, I doubt it is found in the fluff (unless there is someone here who has read everything!) but my recommendation would be:
"Not Another Step Back!"
A La Soviet Commissars. I feel this encapsulates the fanaticism, the dogged determination and the awful experience of the Imperial Guard. For every self-motivated, well-equipped and well-disciplined regiment, there must be hundreds of regiments of terrified conscripts armed with weapons specked with the another previous conscript's blood, sent to the front line to buy another day keeping the Orks away from the promethium distillery or some similarly dispiriting objective.
"Hammer of the Imperium" could be fine.
For every man who falls, 100 more will take his place. (Yeah DoW)
My men are the hammer, my tanks, the anvil.
Service unto death or victory.
Victory at all costs!
"I would gladly give a million lives for the glory of the Emperor"
"You cannot stop the armies of the Emperor. His soldiers are limitless, and his tank will crush you beneath their steel..."
The emperors faithful volenteers
Your Emperor Needs YOU! (Superimposed over pointing mustachioed comissar)

Imperial Guard "At least were not Gretchin"
"...and a bayonet, with some guts behind it"
Although in all honesty, I really like "Duty And Honour".
The name refers to facial hair, not playing style.Originally Posted by A news vendor's stand, London, June 1940
