a inquisitor/pyscannon with some warrior henchman could be handy. a purgation squad or devastator is the way to go something along those lines for heavy weaponary. then your looking at a titan after that cant wait to see your army actually i might of seen it on a different forum
A daemonhunter army can't include both IG and SM allies under any conditions... ever. They're really picky about that.
Also, if you use SM as allies, you can't include Grey Knights (including Grey Knight terminators and DH dreadnoughts)
If you like heavy weapon army, use a SM army with DH as allies. If you do that you CAN include GK's.
Get a good heavy weaponry army going, but include a GK GM w/ psycannon and retinue, some grey knights, an inquisitor/inquisitor lord/ Death Cult Assassins.
My suggestion is to field a balanced SM army and then take an Inquisitor lord as HQ (make him shooty) and then field a callidus assassin and some PAGKs.
Gives you a cool GK feel (complete with Callidus Assassin, who is kickass), but lets you keep the shooty bit that you like and lets you use some pieces you already own. Also, it stops you from having the two huge weaknesses in Daemonhunters. No bodies and no anti-tank.
i got really confused you both have the same avatar.
back on topic death cult assassins arent heavy weaponary but can kill like heavy weaponary (power weapon comparison to high ap)
If what you want is an army list in which you can load up on heavy weaponry, you want to play Imperial Guard. You can ally in plenty of DH/GK goodness to your Guard army.
If you'd prefer for the DH to be your main list, you can still get plenty of IG heavy weaponry, and even a Leman Russ tank, but if you take more than a pair of IG Troops choices, you'd probably be wiser building from the IG list instead, as you'll get a far greater range of options and about the same amount of DH/GK goodness.
Space Marines can, of course, build out a very shooty list, too. But the Marines' real strength is their basic resilience. You won't get nearly as many kewl weapons as you could in an equivalent IG list, but the guys carrying the weapons will be harder to kill and won't fall over in close combat if push comes to shove. You can also ally in GKs into your Marines list, of course, but doing so will cost you more in the Marines dept than they would in the IG dept.
As noted above, there is absolutely no way, at all, to field IG and Marines and GKs in the same army list.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

I'll change my avatar later... in the meantime, defer to number6, his avatar is different and his advice is more in-depth
