I know everyone complains and complains about how bloody awful IG are in HtH. I've just got to say thats its all in the numbers. And even not, you're going to have to role well sooner or later. An example:
I had an infantry squad reduced to 7 soldiers. Then my damn opponent deep strikes some terminators practically on top of them. The terminators killed off 2 of my soldiers with their guns.
Now its my turn. I heated up my flashlights, fired of 10 rapid fire shots. Praise the emporer, one terminator out of 5 killed by a LASGUN! Assault phase, much to the dismay of the troops, the Sgt orders a charge and another miracle. A bayonet goes straight through the eye piece of the terminators helmet. The terminators are reduced to 3 by a squad of 5 guardsmen. In the subsequent turns the terminators ate them up in HtH, luckily the Colonel jumped in and saved the day, killing off the last of the Termi's.
The point of this is, some units may be great at HtH, but when it comes down to it. Its all in the dice, so lead that charge and hope for the best.
How many times has something like that happened to you?
lol back when i played catachans, i had a squad down to 6 guys and i got charged by some chaos marines. 10 marines vs 6 guardsmen, and they killed all but one of them, and the catachans only lost 2. so be nice to your dice, and they'll be nice to you.
If Knowledge is Power, then Genius is Tyranny.
Don't be nice to the dice... just be happy when they do good.... and curse and threaten to destroy them when they roll bad scores...
Well the other day, a squad of gaurdsmen was charged by 10 raptors. 5 died. then five raaining did nothing but there veteren decided to kill on. The gaurdsmen help. Next turn another 10 gaurdsmen charge into the fray. the raptors kill 3, (thx to jammi saves) and the gaurds kill 3 and the sergant kills another! rators lose combat, flee a whole 4 inches (a 1-1-2 job) which are killed by overing gaurdsmen!
 It was the best! And it cost him the game!
A Promise to a dead man means nothing.
Sometimes it really just looks or sounds too good...
In my oppinion some players have a lucky aura around them...
Just like one guy i play against, when playng against him my dice never, NEVER give me a good result
I get good luck with the scatter dice. I command my tanks very well, so their shots are always true.
Hehe, you dudes are quite unlike my opponent. I still remember one battle where I used Raptors for the first time, and he used storm troopers for the first time. Both units entered play through deepstrike, and his storm troopers charged a heavily damaged squad of my Chaos marines. 10 Storm troopers charging 3 regular bolter-wielding Chaos marines, one would almost expect an imperial victory. But, over the course of 2 or 3 assault phases I lost none of the 3 Chaos marines, whilst all 10 storm troopers were wiped out . He wasn't happy with them, especially because my spanking new raptors destroyed 3 tanks and 2 infantry squads .
Ze titles yez...
When in doubt,
Smite.<SilverMane> I would trust BID with my life

I always find you roll better if you use chunky dice
