I have a couple of Appocalypse games coming up soon and not owning the rule book (need money for 5th edition rule book) I have a question.
Can I take anything I want?
- can I have 6 Melta-Torpedos targetted on the objectives?
- can I have 12 Death Cult Assassins roaming around slaughtering things?
- can I have more than 1 Grandmaster?
My thinking is that as long as I pay the points for them I can, but confirmation would be nice.

In Apoc games pretty much everything goes. At least, as long as your opponents/friends agree on it. But I wouldn't see a problem in multiple grandmasters, assassins or a lot of melta torpedo's.
Perhaps your friend has the same idea's
My guess that a lot is accepted in Apocalypse games, otherwise think of a fluffy "excuse" for it. But I could totally see a lot of assassins go at it in Apoc. Check out the GW website, there's a Assassin data sheet around, not sure if it grants Death cult anything though.
The orbital strike must be targeted at terrain, so if an objectieve isn't a piece of terrain you can't target it.
can you take multiple assasin operatives (temples - callidus, vindicaire etc) And if so, can you have multiple of each model (not just 1 from each temple, but multiple callidus')
I just wanted an avatar that was different.....
Thanks for the replies.
As regards the melta torpedoes, I do appreciate that they have to be centered on terrain, but I can put my objectives in terrain and from looking at game reports most objectives seem to be in terrain as well - the only other option being to leave the objective out in the open.
The fluff is easy, for such a big Grey Knight force as 2-3000 points they must have game in some pretty large ships, which are still in orbit and pummelling targets on the ground.
I like it.

Yes. You can field as many as you like.Originally Posted by dinodeanpostcatYes. You can field as many as you like.Originally Posted by dinodeanpostcat

Thank you for all your comments.
I now have the confirmation I need, so consider this thread closed.
Be cautious with the massed Orbital strikes, though... Anything goes in apocalypse, true, but if you show up and start saying that automatic, unstoppable, un-killable orbital barrages are dropping all over the map, you may wind up irritating your opponents.
Take them, by all means, but use common sense in deciding how many to take - Orbital strikes don't really fit into the apocalypse format so well because they're not actually models and can't be killed. If you take a dozen of anything else, your opponent can either maneuver around them or mass his firepower to take them out, because they're there to kill. With Orbital Strikes, they're basically bent over a barrel with no choice but to sit there, take it, and hope it doesn't hurt too badly.
OK, point taken Wraith, but a pure Grey Knight army has very limited options for Heavy Support, with only Land Raiders or Dreadnoughts.
So, would it be considered odd if an Imperial Guard player took 6 Leman Russ tanks? I doubt it. Same with the melta torpedos in my opinion (I was thinking of taking 6).
Now, granted the Leman Russ can be hit and destroyed, but the orbital strike comes on as a reserve, automatically scatters and when the strike hits the opponent knows the target and can avoid it.
The fluff in the codex also adds to their use in apocalypse games by stating it is used only in the most dire circumstances.
Hmm, thread back open me thinks.
