    Allied Dominion Squad

    Evening.

Okay, Codex WH says I can select a single fast attack choice to ally to my space marine army, but I am not allowed any heavy support choices.
    Crystal clear.

A dominion squad must be mounted in a transport, rhino or immolator.
A rhino falls under 'transport' and an immolator falls under 'heavy support'

So, can I have an allied dominion squad in an immolator in my SM army?

( I didn't know which forum to put this in...move it if it should be in WH forum)

I can't say I've seen it all but I live for the things that keep me hollow.

Well, since the immolator is a dedicated... wait a minute, 5th ed doesn't care about dedicted vehicles. In 4th you could because it's a transport. A dedicated one though.

In 5th, my best guess is, it's an upgrade for the unit, hence it's legal.

But that's just my interpretation of it...

you have to take one as an upgrade. It doesn't count as a HS because it doesn't take up a Heavy Support choice in your Force Organization slot. If you took a second one all by itself, it would count as a heavy support choice

That can't be right can it?
So a WH army could have the following:
2 SOB HQ's with celestians in an immolator (2)
3 Dominion Sqds in immolators (3)
3 Retribution sqds in immolators (3)
    3 immolators (3)

    11 immolators on one FOC?

Its not listed in the transport list, and no where does it say its a dedicated transport? Is that right?

That is not exactly right, they could have:
HQ: 2 Heroines HQ's with celestian retinues mounted in an immolator
FAST: 3 Dominion Sqds in immolators
ELITE: 3 Celestian Squads mounted in immolators
Then for heavy you could have either:
3 Retributor Squads mounted in immolators
    -or-
    3 immolators on their own
(Or a mix of the two)

The total is still 11 but you can’t take both 3 retributor squads & 3 immolators on their own.

But what the others here have said is all correct.
Primary Army: Tyranids; Secondary Army: Space Wolves

I didn't notice I got my elites and heavy supports mixed up.

But anyway, thanks everydobby, question asked - question answered.
