Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am deciding to do ether black templar or blood angels. Now I love close combat and I was wondering which is the best for it?
For me Black Templars have better image and Blood Angels better rules
If you want the best CC marines I think BA is your way to go for now
But both are good... it depends on your point of view

... try Czech language ;-)
(cough, cough ) spacewolves (cough, cough)
BA, free codex and they will probably be updated first. Plus they have more interesting fluff.
Arch Overfiend & Grand Despot
I currently play:
Doom Eagle Space Marines
Hive Fleet Omega Tyranids
Goff Ork Boyz(dead)
Tau of O'me
Inquisitorial Xeno Hunters
and my attempted foray into fantasy
'Dark Angel Green' Dark Elves in need of fluff
It's a matter of tastes. The black templars look cool and have the emperor's champion and very large marine units that can walk across the battlefield. They have a lot of sturdy bodies so that a lot of them will be alive when they hit the enemy lines.
The BA have fewer but more "elite" troops that can jump from cover to cover and hit the enemy lines in no time. Personally, I'm a big fan of jumppacks and chainswords, so Blood angels for me Those veteran assault marines can really pack a punch with all the equipment they can get.
I'm not completely sure about it, since I don't play black templars, but I think blood angels allow for a bit more finesse when fighting. Since everything is so fast, you can generally decide the engagements that will take place and focus a large portion of your troops in only a fraction of the enemies (which you generally will want to do).
Watch out for ordnance weapons, however, as they can disintegrate whole squads at a time and it hurts a lot, since they are so expensive. Use cover whenever you can and try to stay locked in combat so that you are not eligible as a target for the shooting phase.
i'm kicking this over into the Space Marines forum. Seeing as it seems to be Space Marine related. I can't read though. Just a funny feeling in my big toe.
Also, please make sure to put an end date on your polls in future.

The reason for me to play Black Templars would be the "Scouts" because with their help you increase every Tactical Squad to twice the normal size of a standard Marines' squad. This should be enough to run through the enemy's fire (sacrificing the Scouts) and then charge into his lines with all the fury of your remaining Marines.

Blood Angels 2nd Grail Guard Company
Having been decimated three times by a friend who fields a rather impressive BA force, there is no doubt in my mind that BA’s are the best choice for a CC orientated army!
The free codex, excellent models, great special rules, about a dozen unique HQ characters and the ever-feared death company all add up to one very very impressive army list with a mass of options that should keep you entertained for weeks as you plough through details to try and get the best from your army.
Yea, templar's look good, the champion is cool, massive squads are a good bonus, but that means nothing against a jump-pack command squad with Dante at the helm, throwing 4x Str 4 Init 5 attacks and reducing WS and BS by 1 to all enemies within 6 inch, and that’s before the command squad get stuck in! Then you have Mephiston who is a one-man army on his own!
BS's are a beast to beat. When i finally manage to take my friend's BA army down, I'm going to personally name each and every surviving model of my army!
Sorry, I digress. Where was I. Right, BA's rule in CC. Period.
I'd drop a link to the BA codex incase you don’t have it already, but I don’t want to be breaking rules/etc, so just Google "Blood Angels Codex" and its typically the top result called "Presents" or something in PDF format. =)
Let us know what you chose when you start making your army, and drop a link to your army list too! =)
I play black templar, so of course I would say black templar. But it is up to you. Both armies are very good in close combat. I don't really know the blood angel's rules (because I never cared to really look them up) but I do know that the death company is a strong close combat unit, however suicidal they may be.
The black templar, can swap their bolter for a bolt pistol and close combat weapon whenever they want. This gives them extra attacks and with the increased unit size that the neophytes give, that is alot of attacks.
There is also the Emperor's Champion, who is himself a monster in close combat (I hate his low ammount of wounds though.), can give vows to the army, which usually give your army an edge. They can raise their strength (but lower initiative) or they can be a pain for psykers. There are a handful of vows to choose from.
Both armies have their little tricks and abilities, and both have some great looking models, and good fluff. It just comes down to which one you want to play. They are both good choices. (And I would also, say space wolves it a good close combat army as well.) But be sure to look at the downsides to the army as well. Thats a key factor in any army.
