So after playing a game against the death guard yesterday with the new 5th Edition rules it comes to my attention that the Blood Angels really need to re look their army list compositions...
From reading this forum, most people would have told you that Vets are our best and have 3 of them and a full DC. But the problem being that Elites aren't scoring units anymore :/
Not only that but with the new LOS rules its become pretty rough trying to hide those 5man assault squads from those dirty pie plates.
So now with the new rules, what do you think the competitive changes will be?
How many scoring units do you really need? As others can still contest...
I use Lemartes. 5 man death company.
2 10 man tactical squad with plasma gun and plasma cannon.
2 5 man assault squad with powerfist and plasma pistol.
1 5 man terminators.
this works really good in a 1000-1500 pt. match. I usually kill all my opponents units and still have some scoring units left. Ten men tactical squads are a must for 5th edition. Plus you can use combat squads to keep the heavy weapon from moving. 5th edition will be so much fun.
Traitors dine in heLL.
Well on other forums I'm seeing alot of people replacing their VAS with regular ones. So gone is the day of 3 VAS units and a DC and in competitive armies I doubt I will see more then 1 unit of the guys, regardless of how good they are. Id also Imagine that we will see a drop in all jump pack lists due to the new LOS rules. Lastly I'd guess that we will see dante more often due to the new re-roles that he will give us.
I agree, but what we're forgetting is the fact of the rumor about the space marine codex,
where the "gear" of the captain or master, determines what is a troop choice.
Put a captain in a jump pack, your assault marines are now troop choices.
we won't know how "badly hurt" the BAs are until that Space Marine codex drops.
Rome wasn't built in a day, Either should good scenery.
I know everyone use lemarthe but I use dante and he is even better in this edition
-preferred enemy gives rerolled to hit so dante gives this ability to every one in 12" for all rounds of combat.
-he does -1ws and bs to everyone in 6" so most of your units will have 3+ to hit reroll.
-his melta is better now
I use him with corlubo so when I charge i get 3+ reroll to hit at 5 strength 5 init.
Lemarthe give reroll to hit for one round at the charge for one squad.
Run will also help us 18" with jump pack and 12" with furioso
Yeah like pickle said it wont mean changes to us, unless they change stats lines of scouts (which i've heard is rumoured) or stats of guns or vehicles.
Which would all be FAQ'd until they release a new codex for us.... which maybe they are just waiting for the new codex and BGB to be released...
Yea, I do like the new rules but this troop is the only scoring means we will be getting boring armies coming to game day. I guess it will stop those power gamers.
Another thing to note... Extra Armour... is it worth the pts now??? It only effects 1/6 of the results on the damage table now.
