I was thinking of starting a Deathwing Army as i know its small amount of models for the points. And seeing as my main army is nids it seems a good contrast. What i was wondering was do i need to buy Dark Angels Deathwing Terminator or can i just use normal teminators painted properly
use whatever you like, use deathwing termies or regular termies or you can do some conversions, by the war, ive never actually seen deathwing termies in my local store, i thought the only option was to use 'normal' termies
I just saw them on the online store. Are Deathwing sm the most points > model army wise. Really i want a army that isnt to many models
im pretty sure that deathwing is the way to go for value, all you really need is two sqauds of termies a couple of dreddies and a couple of land raiders and a hq choice. not to insult your skill or intelligence, but are you sure you want to play deathwing? they are a real challenge, but on the other hand they have one of the coolest themes i have ever seen, and because they are hard as nails already, you dont need to purchase much additional wargear.
I play a nids army at present. I just want a change and seeing as i dont have that much cash atm i want somthing that gets me allot for my buck so to speak. And yes im sure i can handle to tactics
cool, i cant think of anything more opposite than a deathwing army and a nids army. if you want a cool looking HQ you should think about converting one of the daemonhunters termies, that way you still have the termie armour but its something that will look badass compared to the regular troops, and personally i think thats what a good charactor needs....
Maybe once i get the basic army sorted and i get used to them. My main aim is keeping my nids army going but havin a side project as cool as this cant be bad
If you want a low model army, try straight up Daemonhunters. All Grey Knights, nothing else. You can easily sink 600pts into a squad of GK termies, and 400 in a squad of power armor GK. I've played with less than 25 models in a 1500pt game with them.
I have a Deathwing army, and let me tell you - it rocks.
Despite what you may think, when you play with an army entirely made of Terminators, people get scared. I've had a few people refuse to play me because of that. [shameless plug]Infact I have a few pics up:[/shameless plug]
Shifting from 'Nids to DW will be hard, because they are almost complete polar opposites. In a game of 1500pts. you will be playing with probably about ~20 models. Small games are a thing of the past unless you play 40K in a Jiffy or something. Each member of your team costs 47pts. at the minimum...so you can see where I'm going with this. Losing 2 or 3 Termies to a squad of lasgun fire is not cool!
Like mEGALOMANIAC said, a GK army would be a good alternative if you want a few more models with a higher WS. I almost started a GK army, but I decided to go DW at the last minute.
EDIT: Oh, and to answer your question - I used plastic Termies and converted them with DW bits and Green Stuff.

Ok, I don't collect DA, be it Ravenwing, Deathwing or otherwise, but last time I checked the Codex they were 10 pts more expensive than normal termies, not 5 (can't put the actual value up its copyright). Oh great thanks I've just started thinking about collecting Ravenwing, bercause I love fast attack. But I can't.
Because I'm skint. And my current army needs finishing. Oh damn.
Ravenwing: list made, now just to buy all the stuff on it (why do bikes have to be so expensive?)
