If you haven't already seen this in another forum,
the new GW FAQ's are up
GW Online : News : Errata
doesn't hurt to check the DemonHunters FAQ as well. there's a few things there that apply to us as well.
Really, GW pi**ed me off. So we get the POTMS but cheap ass-cannon. No wargear update. They downvalued arcos, repentias and Penitent engines by cutting off the double-run.
Ooooooohhhhh our overcosted nigh-useless uber-sniper can shoot in CC? And they tell me "how cool is that"???? It's a worthless piece of garbage, GW. Thanks for that "gift". Oh, and they Eversor can charge after firing it's pistol? Who cares? Pistols are assault 1 in 5th ed! What we wanted to know was "can he still fire twice?"
Time to start writing letters, lots of letters. Faxes. Emails, Phone calls.
Or to start buying either Space Marines or AT-43 products.
Am I the only one who noticed that Celestians have lost Preferred Enemy? They still have their old Holy Hate rule, but the improved Preferred Enemy would have been nice for a unit that is barely adequate in assault as it is.
vs Marines - 2/0/1
vs Orks - 0/0/3
A cruel joke indeed...
Well arcos and others could Move+d6 then assault. Now, they simply move. If they run, they cannot assault. So they effectively lost the "fleet" rule (even if that "fleet" was not directed by the player but towards the nearest enemy unit).
Even worse, they forgot so many important things. How does the neural shredder work now?
What about the fast shot having the eversor shoot twice?
Turb-penetrator rule and rending sniper weapons?
Exorcist's arc-of sight?
If they could revise the GK's Power of the machine Spirit, why not the repair rule for our rhinos?
Not really, they did a lazy lazy job. People are way to forgiving of GW, or content to bitch on boards without actually writing or calling. My God, we pay good money for those models, we have a right to expect rules that work. Here's what I wrote to GW:

Games Workshop Customer Service
I write to you as a Games Workshop client. I have been playing Warhammer 40 000 for about 4 years now. As such, I have invested a fair amount in the models that you and Forgeworld sell. This culminated with buying a Warhound and a Reaver over the last year. The main armies I play are Witchunters and Daemonhunters. I currently own over 150 models of those armies.
The reason I write to you is that I consider that, as a customer, I have been treated unfairly by your company. Games Workshop is, to me, a provider of goods (models) but also of service (rules). As such, your customer service in regards to both the Inquisitorial armies as been quite under my expectations. It angers me that I cant decently use those armies I have invested so much in, both in money and time.
In the last months, you launched and supported a variation to your game system called Apocalypse. Although your company promised support for all armies, Inquisitorial armies received little or no attention. A few weeks ago, Mr Jervis Johnson announced that the army rules (codex) would be updated according to a five years plan. At the same time, he mentionned that Inquisitorial armies would be at the tail end of the plan. That makes for a 8-9 year separation between rules updates. More than that, the FAQs you recently launch failed to adress key issues with those armies. Again, as a customer, I find that unacceptable.
The reason my gaming group chose your game system is the awesome backstory that accompnies it. Yet, a game is foremost a game and must be entertaining to start with. I will not start a different army as a response to the lack of up to date rules for the Inquisition. I feel that would be rewarding your company for the bad level of customer service it currently provides me with. Unfortunately, I will have to move on to a diffent game system.
Lo and behold, I got an answer from Andy Hoare. He wants me top write back to him what I've found unsatisfactory with the FAQS... As a customer, you have a right to complain, use it.
For starters, I'd like to know what the LOS and arc of fire looks like for my Exorcist... Or are you telling me that they forgot that they never told us in the first place? Small omission, given that all measurements for LOS will be borderline-anal now?!? How about Monolith for my second army? I know - that will come in the next codex that I will need to pay for... For now I can fire with my Vindicare into CC - THX - I knew that already...
