Got a couple of points left over, so I'm thinking of giving my command squads (which have mortars) surveyors to catch those nasty infiltrators with their pants down.
You can use space marine auspexes.
Alright, and what sprues have auspexes?
Could always carve up a sprue or two to make a hand-held device....
I don't even know what they look like in order to attempt to do that. Even if I did I've never tried to make anything out of scrap plastic before, let alone something for a Guardsman instead of an Ork where some half-assed thing fits.
Easiest way I did it was just to Green stuff over the eyes of the vox-caster heads to create a sealed helmet, then its quite reasonable to assume its built into that troopers helmet and he can direct the squads fire as he can detect them. As I don't believe there is an actual representation for a Surveyor on any sprue.

Pig Iron Production have several different heads that fit with the guards quite nicely. Any of those could be used to represent built in surveyors in the helments. Lke this one...
HEAVY INFANTRY VISORED HELMET SPRUES
and these would work as well...
HEAVY INFANTRY OPEN HELMET SPRUES
There are a lot of other head options to chose from as well....

You get a lot of heads for the price.
Where the heck did all them guardsmen come from?
Great Wolf! Is that the howl of the 13th?
That's pretty overkill. I need 2 or 3, not 20.
I know it is pretty lame, but I use binoculars to represent who has the surveyor.
But I did flip them around and glue them directly to the brim of the helmet, so it looks sorta like night vision goggles.
I will try to dig up a pic later and put it in my album.
