I was thinking of expanding on my ultramarine army by adding some DH or WH but which is better????
Supporter in the Eternal War Against.......Nothing!
Sisters of Battle!!! Don't be fooled by those snazy psycic powers and henchmen, all of the power is in Battle Sisters, the most cost affective trooper in the game. for 4 pts less than a Marine you have an elite soldier who can shoot as well as any Space marine, is resistant to psycic powers, and can summon forth acts of faith. Getting a vast amount of heavy flamers into your army list is a good side affect too.
of course Deamon hunters and Witch hunters fulfill very different roles on the battle field. Deamon hunters are unmatched in assault. Obvously if you expect to face deamons, bring deamon hunters. If you expect to face witches and heretics (think thousand suns and eldar) then maybe Sisters would be better.
DAEMONHUNTERS!!! dont be fooled by witch hunters little acts of faith and such
but anyway i gotta say i vouch for daemonhunters as they are basically one of the best assault troops in the game they also have the infamous PSYCANNONS! and incinerators these are a good side effect too. even though daemonhunters are small in number and have very little plasma and no melta guns we have our NFW's!
when it comes to being able to get somewhere fast we can do it quite easily as most of our troops can deepstrike you'll never need to really worry about them getting shot up before they attack something
and dont let our unshootiness fool you all of our grey knights have storm bolters every one. plus we got psycannons and 3 shot for eveyone of them are really good
our only downside is our point heavy nature
but this is actually good beacause it saves you money
When cities burn and armies turn
and flee in disarray,
Cowards will cry 'tis best to fly
and fight another day,
But warriors know it in their marrow when they
die and fall,
It is better to have fought and lost than not have
fought at all.

Ahem, why'd you post the same thing twice? Not only that, but you've posted yet another one of those "Which army is best, which should I play?" Which is a total matter of opinion. Next time use the search feature, or I hunt you down and eat you.
Sisters are shootier, but it's very close range shooting, with Meltaguns, Flamers, H. Flamers and Multimeltas. Grey Knights have some of the coolest miniatures in the game, but are very close combat orientated, with their Nemesis Force Weapons.

Wait, you mean that optimism isn't fashionable anymore?!
Lord of Smart-ass Youthimizzles.
Soup's up, bitches!
Sisters are much more versatile and celestians can fill both the roll of decent close combat with good short ranged shootiness. Grey Knights can deepstrike come with str6 ws5 and 2 attacks each... and all their terminators have the same thing, but they have power weapons to top it all off If you want the most out of 5 models, a BC and 4 termis if you're looking for multitasking, sisters.
I adopted a cute lil' poison fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus! </a>
It's a little hard but i think the cc of the greyknights tops it all. If Witch hunts have to get up close to someone to shoot them then most likely they will not kill a squad and the squad will smack the witch hunters around.
[QUOTE] "For eleven hundred years I have fought and I have seen the darkness in our galaxy. I have seen the vileness of the alien. I have seen the heresy of the mutant. I have witnessed the sin of Possession. I have seen all the evil that the galaxy harbours and I have slain all whose presence defiles the Emperor. I have seen what you have seen i Have fought what you must fight and i have slain what you must slay.
You are armored by the Emperor himself.
Righteousness is your sheild. So fear not and be proud, for we are the sons of Sanguinius, the Protectors of ManKind
Aye, we are indeed the Angels of Death"

I beg to differ. I have made well over 1000 pts disapear of even the toughest armies disapear in one turn of holy cleansing fire, and storms of bolter fire. Don't forget the ability to drive around in Rhinos and drop heavy flamer templates over their enemies. short range shooty is also around 24". Well placed sisters can usually pull off 3 rounds of well aimed bolter fire (and the large volumes of sisters makes this a death march). End that third round with a berage of heavy flamers burning away any remaining oposition some times meens that there never will be an assault turn. Even if there is, its often unbalanced by acts of faith giving the sisters the ability to hit first in close combat, or to make stronger attacks than space marines, or perhaps even deny armor saves. Squads of celestians hitting on 3+, or saraphim with their 2 close combat weapons, and good initiative and weapons skill, are also something that is tough for even deamon hunters to deal with.
However, the grey knights CAN deapstrike. This reduces the sisters shooting to a very very very brutal 1 round that can destroy entire squads of terminators. You have to be lucky enough for all of your deapstriking units to show up where you want them. Even with teleport homers, you have to be lucky enough to have your storm troopers servive the death march up to the sisters lines. Even with a Chimera thats a rough trip.
I will not say that Deamon hunters, and grey knights, have no chance against sisters, but I have not lost to them yet, and that was with our older weeker army rules.
Go Grey Knights!!!
Now that i have shown my neutral status (haha ), i would go with GK's
with 2A at S6 in CC and 2 shots at 24' no matter what mean they are much more verstile(sp.?) than SoB. They also have T4 which is a good advantage over Sob, and Gk can deep strike, meaning u can get close and get them to where u need them quickly
It all depends on wat kind of UM army u play, do u want CC or shooting backup???
Wateva u choose, good luck (GO GK!! )
FEEL THE POWER OF MY NEMISIS FORCE SWORD...............BLAAAAAAAAA.....
Go GK..............booooo Sisters.
A Rhino? SLOTH!
naturally, being a radical and all, I like daemonhunters. but i prefer the darker way, without the grey knights. daemonhosts are the way to go for me. they're extremely powerful, and my opponent lets me play w/ an unbound daemonhost, which i made rules for.
in answer to the question: i'm sure millions of ppl have said this already, but it all comes down to style of play and what you'd like best for your army
