In 5th edition our Sentinels can pop Smoke after their Scout move. This is fantastic if we know that we are going second or if we go first and need to move our Sentinels somewhere quickly.
See page 62: “… after completing its move, a vehicle with smoke launchers can trigger them…”
And page 78: “ … any Scouts may make a normal move. This is done exactly as in their Movement phase …. “
With the new rules on Squadrons helping too, this makes Sentinel Squadrons much more useful.
Thats awesome! RAW would make it prove itself. can anyone come up with any way this wold not be legal?
"Thank him who puts me loath to this revenge on you who wrong me not for him who wrongd"
I guess I can see it being useful, but most of the time they'll be outflanking or deep striking anyway.
Interesting, but I try to keep my sentinels firing every turn w/ their lascannons, so I never put smokers on them. Maybe in the case that I lose the initiative, so they can survive the first round.

Good gods man! that's a significant price increase to the guard player!
Smoke isn't the saviour it once was. 4+ cover save? didn't you move behind cover anyway? You can move out and fire on your turn.
I'm going to armour compartment my sentinals now to stop them popping so much. (+1 dam result, they tend to be penetrated alot. Stops death by glancing from boltguns etc.)
