I play blood angels and my brother plays black legion with lots of landraiders, defilers and other nasty vehicles. Every time we play he takes 2 defilers, a landraider, dreadnought, abaddon, and some khorne marked legionairres and then justs sits in a nice spot with good fire lanes and never moves. as i'm a more close ranged force, what can i do to take down the tanks without loosing my melta bomb/chainfist marines to abaddon?
If your bro sits in one big clump of tanks supported by abbadon and his bezerkers, and you lack any serious heavy weapons, all you can do is really try and coordinate most of your stuff to converge on him at the same time, and tie abbadon and the bezerkers up while other marines destroy the tanks. Im not highly familiar with the blood angels specifically, or what you are running as far as a list, so my suggestion is based on what little I know about your situation.
My big question is are you playing objective based games, because his army sounds a bit weak in the troop department, and as such, if you play to sieze an objective, he will have to come after the objective rather than camp.
More info on the games you are playing, and your army would be helpful, but maybe a BA player could give you a more sound strategy based on what you have to work with.

Hello, I'm bored today. So I've decided to make a rare post. Enjoy!Start by not taking Melta Bombs or chain Fists. A good blood angels army doesn't needs neither.what can i do to take down the tanks without loosing my melta bomb/chainfist marines to abaddon?
Secondly, your a blood angel player, build your Veteran Assault Squads so that he fears your assaults, I suggest a mixture of power weapons and power fists. Your Death Company is a better assault squad than anyother single unit in the chaos army range.
Take 3 multi melta attack bikes in separate squads. Use these to pop his tanks, you'll need to get close to pop the landraider, but that's not a problem for attack bikes.
An honor guard with melta gun + powerfist is a great buy to get some extra anti tank.
Lemates should be your HQ.
right now my anti tank department consists of a chainfist, predator with all lascannons, a dread with TL lascannon, a devastator squad with 2 missile, 2 lascannons, and a meltagun combat squad in rhino. i'm gonna be buying some attack bikes soon, but at the moment i only have a 3 man bike squad with powerfist and flamer. my problem is that if i move i can't fire most of my cannons and then he hits me with 4 twinlinked lascannons and 2 battlecannons. and for objectives he has his khorne marines and abaddon run to them either in a rhino or abaddon with deep striking terminators.
first of all, i highly destain special characters inanything besides apoc games. so in my book, win for you every time you play against him. anyway, i play BA's too and i have found out that numerous assault squads with powerfists and a few good krak grenades take care of armour well. the problem is getting there mostly unscathed. you really have to be a good general and use cover to your best advantage. with him posting up and shooting from one spot, it sould be easy to see his fire lanes and you can use cover to your advantage from there. i highly recomend using the mulit-melta bikes. they are your heavy tank hunters and handle the stuff your assault squads cant handle. in the mean time, a pred anighilator is usefull for the heavy stuff as well as a furioso(a personal favorite) as for abbandon and the bezerks, your death company is a fantastic option. dont count on them winning, just count on them charging (jump packs almost mandatory) and killing a good portion of bezerks while tying them up for a few turns.
after that, t up to your decisions and the dice rolls. good luck!
