Heres what I plan to buy ( will this cover all i need to play ( minus the figures lol ) )
Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook
Warhammer 40,000 Templates
Fine detail brush,Small Dry brush,Large/Standard brush
Super Glue x2
Paint ( ill be buying the appropriate ones , shadeing ,eyes ,face ect.)
Chaos Black Spray ( primer)
I plan to play as dark angels I have the codex , do I need to buy the space marines codex , or am I good ? (Do i play my space marines as dark angels).
the dark angel codex is a stand alone codex and does not require the spacemarine codex. i recommed you buy the blcak fire reach box since your starting. it comes with a rulebook, templates, some dice, space marines and orks(which you can trade for more space marines!)
Never give up. Never give up. HIT, HIT, HIT, HIT!
I personally would recommend waiting and buying the new SM codex as the wargear gets upgraded, you get most of the same abilities and the points per model for anything drops significantly. The only things you'd miss out on would be things like special ravenwing formations, and deathwing terminators which can mix assault and shooty terminators in the same squad and of course the special characters.
They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my SPESS MAHREENS!
I say that I have to agree with everyone on the Black Reach box set. It covers all your bases as far as starting models and accesories for a fraction of the cost! I have been playing marines for awile and could not pass up a dreadnaught/terms/tac squad for $60
As far as the black spray primer.....i dont use any spray primers as base coats now. I would recommend Foundation paints as my base coats. I tried them out for the first time on my terminators and was very much impresses. I am going to painting the rest of my Dark Angels using them!
Kendo's DA's, Eldar, and stuff WIP
Dark Angels: W-22 D-4 L-5 High Elves W-8 L-1
That's what I'd do now if it didn't make me bleed tears to vandalise my 150+ painted and converted Dark Angel Infantry, and insignia'd (on every face and the top) 19x vehicles (Including Forgeworld doors on Land Raider and Command Razorbacks). Poot and Darnation. Poppycock. I did consider imperial Fists, but i decided that it was unlikely I could get a consistent yellow over time (very true with the old wash going out of production)
do your own gren-based chapter, and use it as Dark Angels, or vanilla marines (say it's a successor of whatever (insert IC name and chapter) and use as appropriate.

Only need the DA codex and don't worry, DA is still a good army. If you like them, go with it.
Listen to stayscrunchinmilk, and don't lock yourself down with the DA. Play a successor chapter so you can switch around. Maybe a FAQ will fix the differences, but if it doesn't you aren't stuck with substandard marine equipment as compared to others.
Battlesuits, putting the BS in BullS*%t.
Well it looks pretty decided. Why are you choosing Dark Angels? Purely because you have the book already?
