What impossible odds has your guard faced and managed to overcome? Tell your insane acts of herroism story here.
I had a lone sergeant pass his stand alone test multiple times to assault a tau fire line and run off two full squads of fire warriors,in the same turn he assaulted them, before he was taken down.
On one occasion a lictor surfaced in the middle of a ten man squad and whiffed all of his attacks. My squad then took him apart in that same turn with nothing but strength three muzzle thumps! The best part was before the rematch I offered my opponent he made a flashlight joke to which I responded with something along the lines of, "They really just carry them like bats so they can beat lictors to death with them."
My Vets once charged a Land Raider crusaider with melta bombs, destroyed it. They were then shot at out of cover by the entire of a very angry SM army. Not a single wound. They then killed the Commander and HQ squad that had been using the Landraider, before running away, this time only losing 2 men to the shooting.
Also a JO was next to a ork trukk one day. The wrecking ball (str10 hits on a 4+) hit twice on two rounds. neither wounded. So the wrecking ball hit him square in the face. And didn't hurt him!
a squad of storm troopers killed a bloodthirster, then when on to kill 3 fiends of slaanesh and 1 squad of bloodletters before being killed. They are all commissars now (posthumously)

I only had two matches, but I'll never forget this one shot I pulled off.
My enemy was running his platoon HQ staff across the open field, seemingly out of LoS. Turns out there was a small split in the rock formation, little wider than a single guardsmen. Fired a frag missle at the command squad through the split, direct hit. Killed 4 out of the 5 command squad, the JO running away and probably not coming back. ^^
All the while his hilarious, immobile, weapon-less sentinel watched, unable to do anything.
Quite amusing ^^
I was at a gamesday a while back. A squad of stormtroopers had been completely killed except 1. The remaining stormtrooper then suicide charged a 10 man squad of undivided chaos chosen termies all sporting powerfists. I go first and somehow manage to kill one. They then take their attacks and either fail to hit or fail to wound. They lose combat and roll a ld check. They fail, twice. My stormtrooper then sweeping advances and kills them all. My opponent almost gave up after that. Following that, I painted several medals on his chestplate and mounted a terminator head on his backpack.
Sometimes awesome things can happed in many games - my favourite recent story involving my own troops is from a game last night.
It was a 2000 point game, marines and skitarii vs orks and tyranids (1000 points each).
An decent sized orc mob had recently smashed a predator apart, right next to a building occupied by a full tactical squad and my mouthfrothing commander. Fully expecting space marine support, my command squad assaulted out the building into the orcs.
The marines failed their difficult terrain check and couldn't make it.
Maybe it was some kind of placebo effect (expecting the marines to be there as well), but the end of that combat turn saw the orcs massacred! I only lost 3 grunts. Fun. And Scipio (and his fanatical priest following) continued to live up to his reputation.

Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
R.I.P Lt. Cartel
Died after three rounds of combat with a squad of Raptors of which he was the last man standing for two of them.
It's worth a krak!
The best my men ever did in terms of heroism was when a single squad of ten men defeated Abadon in close combat. It was pretty unlucky for my opponent cuz he rolled a 1 on his daemonic weapon, got a wound from it, lost 2 more from the wounds my men caused and got finished of because of the No Retreat rule.
Ever since, my opponent doesn't field him anymore.

lol where to start
my medic now carries a daemon hammer(i count it as a close combat weapon) beause my command squad died except him, who managed to kill the enemies entire inquisitor retinue!!!(inquisitor lord, familiar, acolyte, and CC servitor)
last night 1 certain squad managed to kill saint celestine 3 times!!!!!!
1st time, they dropped in(drop troops) 2 inches away from her!!! and then managed to wound her 6 times............my opponent then proceeded to get 4, one's, failing his 2+invulnerable 4 times(used faith to make armor sv invulnerable)
2nd time, shot her to death, manageing 14 wounds(despite not being able to use their flamer) and she failed her save twice(again the 2+ sv)
3rd time, the squad was in combat with her, and down to 4 men left when they got a chance to fight back, and managed to cause 4 wounds(yeah none missed, and all wounded!!!!!!) and she failed her save killing her yet again
a russ of mine crushed 2 daemonprinces, a avatar, and a bloodthirster, due to tank shock..............enough said
Gotta love the will of man, many people tell me that guardsmen do not have courage, bravery, or will, they just run away, but this topic proves them wrong............in my opinion, they are the bravest, most courageous, and have a Iron Will.
Hellhounds are good tanks

Forgot to mention the time when a Necron Lord got crushed under the threads of a chimera when he got tankshocked and failed his death or glory test by rolling a 1 on a penetrating hit.
Ah! the wonders of rolling a 1...
There was also a game against Witch hunters that my ratlings passed 4 Ld tests in a row before putting a headshot the inquisitor that was trying to scare them.
