Thanks to all SM players again for the helping.
IG veteran. Couldn't figure out the role of the new land speeder storm.
I can see that they have this equipment that reduces ld by 2 if the 5 scouts charge into the enemy.
How dangerous is a 5 man scout team charging? What equipment do they need to be packing?
Also what would a seasoned SM player do if they have a land speeder storm?
Having weapons but having bs3 and also mainly used as a transport means no weapon upgrades needed?

5 scouts won't do much against most enemies, but they can take down small shooty squads or weakened units. Broadsides, heavy weapon squads, etc all fall prey. 5 scouts and a power weapon and melta bombs could work well. Use the speed of the storm to get where you want to be. They can also be used to grab an objective late in the game. Also, the Storm disrupts enemy DS-ers and practically instawins against Daemons.
It's a very handy little thing.

Just curious i haven't heard bout this storm thing. Are you talking about a new version of a land speeder or bike??
Yeah, there's always a whole list of irritating rear echelon units that you've got trouble taking out from across the table. This is the perfect way to deal with them.
Tank hunting for annoying Whirlwinds/Basilisks/Hammerheads? Check.
Jumping on Battlesuit squads when they least expect it? Check, and even better with a Powerfist.
If not killing, then at least tying up a Devastator or Dark Reaper Squad in combat for a few turns? Definite check.
Just like the Scout Bikers, a squad of 5 in a Storm is really best suited to harassing and guerilla strikes on weak points in the enemy battle line. They'll get pulped if they're left at the mercy of enemy line combat units, but if those are busy dealing with your own heavy units, Scouts can rampage pretty freely.
EDIT: SaintA, it's a new transport variant Landspeeder, made especially for scouts.
The new storm speeder is a ridiculous asset to the SM armoury,I have proxyed them with my tornadoes and I love them.1 question though do you have to convert speeders to get them or does GW plan on selling them as actual models?
the 5 scouts support a real squad hitting a unit
Here is forge worlds version coming out:
edit- I think this is actually GW model...can't remember

There is no ruling I can see regarding the Storm and 10 man scout squads.
Are we to assume that a 10 man squad cannot take a Storm, or can they be transported in 2 Storms?
EDIT: The reason I ask this is because, in Apocalypse Reload there is a Space Marine Scout Company Unit.
It indicates that all Scout Sqauds must be 10 strong, and also gives the option to take up to 10 Land Speeder Storms.
Some of these Scout units may be Bikes, but if you are only able to take Squads of 10 foot Scouts, what use would 10 Storms be unless you were able to use 2 Storms to carry a Squad of 10.
That would give Scout Assaults a whole lot more potential.
