I am a big fan of fluff and i want to play with Cotaez.So i need advice what hanchmens and with what wargear to field with him in 5 ed?He can have 15 HMens and up to 4 for each of them.WOuld it be nice to put acolytes with high saves,and 4 combat servitors with power fist?
Coteaz i s cool, and should only be taken for fluff reasons..
Now that a lot of the daemons i codex: daemons (actually 90% of them) dont seem to count as daemons anymore lol.. ironically... And being that banishment is useless now.... You are paying xxx points for a beefed up inquisitor with slightly less shooting ability then a normal inquisitor...
You are paying tons of points for an inquisitor that is good in CC, but has no good units to back him.
We could give him a familiar to boost his Init again. which is cool. But he has a thunderhammer, which makes giving him a familiar useless.
Being that he is close combat orientated, you could equip the acolytes with close combat tools, but they are still week with a low number of attacks. And giving them a lot of 2+ saves via Artificer armour... but again, weak in melee still.
Next we got the hierophant, which his daemon abilitys and +LD abilities are useless since, as already mentioned most daemons listed in our codex that are effected by the abilities no longer are around or are even close to the same. And coteaz's LD can't be increased anymore.
I guess the sage is good for coteaz's scourging power... but i mean, still pretty useless here, if you are going to take a sage at all in this retinue, rethink your decision to use coteaz, and use a normal inquisitor with a psycannon.
The mystic. Two mystics are cool. Although they do little to help this unit, they can make it so that that deepstriking unit over there will be shot by the GKs next to you if you have 2 mystics... more is not needed, and less is useless for coteaz.
Finally we have the warrior.... Hmm, about the only decent enough choice for this unit, but still not that great.
the warriors are not great as power fist servitors. Being that coteaz will strike last, and so will these guys, so i mean, pretty useless thus far. You can give them all flamers,... lol 4 flamers pre-assault could make short work of the enemy, and make coteaz's CC attacks sting a little more of whats less, and also make them survive longer in CC since the enemy will have less models to hit back with.
Lots of people agree, DH inquisitor retinues is for shooting, WH =I= retinues is for CC.... We just don't have the guys that are good for CC. So it is just best to stay away from coteaz... Unless you take him alone and throw him with some grey knights... but again, his xxx points, you could feild 7 grey knights and have 10 left over points. You tell me if 7 GKs are worth coteaz and fluff? I don't think so unfortunatly.
But again, the only reason to take him is fluff. But for his points cost, he is still almost useless imo.
To address the issue of him getting 0-4 henchmen of everygroup, this is cool. However the only decent henchmen to take are the warriors with heavybolters and plasma cannon... which, mixed with coteaz, are not that useful.

Like Goblin said, DH Inquisitors are best kitted out for shooting. Your standard, nameless Inquisitorial firebase has a psycannon and 3 gun servitors (2-3 HB, 0-1 Plasma Cannon), 2 sages, 1-2 mystics, 0-3 acolytes.
You can still get 4 big guns in a Coteaz retinue, plus additional acolytes making it just a bit more shooty than the standard one, but with the added bonus of a bit of a combat kick in case the squad gets charged. The major downsides are that this squad is really expensive, still will get its butt kicked in assault, and isn't flavorful to the Coteaz model or fluff.
If you're going to go with Coteaz himself, I say you should go all out for close combat. You should already be well aware of how pricey and weak Malleus assault Inquiistors are, so if you still want to take one, I say you need to embrace it whole hog.
And with Coteaz, that means maxing out the retinue and getting him a Rhino -- if not a Land Raider! -- for transport. I'd add in 1 Combat Servitor, 1 vet Guardsmen with CCW and BP, 1 vet Guardsmen with a melta gun, 1 vet Guardsmen with a flamer, 4 Acolytes with carapace armour, CCWs and bolt pistols, and a heirophant. You don't want to overload on Combat Servitors because that's just too many weak models going at Initiative 1. The vet guardsmen are cheaper, faster, can generate multiple attacks, and can give you a good pre-charge kick to boot.

Hmm thank you guys on advices.It`s shame that character like Cotaez who is some Inq. Lord so useless in 5 ed. and with new daemon rules.I will maybe try and play with him sometimes and use those retinue like number6 said.When i see your posts,i think too that he is really now sad story for DH army and really useless.
But his model is cool so... use it...USE IT AT ONCE!
it is much cooler than the regular =I= s (which are already very cool)
He has never been that great (even in 4thEd.)- bit of a point sink, but man he looks mean.
Your best bet is in apocalypse games he makes his place known against the very big monsters backed up by a few inquisitors with sacred incense and what not.
He's good because he can hurt them at strength 8 with rerolls (to wound)
He's not so good if you allow him take a single dent or don’t use an inquisitor alongside him for this role.
Also I don't think the familiar will stack +1 iniative onto the iniative 5 given from the eagle, I think I remember reading in the entry…

I converted the model. Gave it some strap on shooter, Termo base, but it is still incomplete, untill i get better in converting, he will be my gkgm
